1. Bono was on American Idol last night...
  2. Quite simply he's sinking to new depths, is he aware of how uncool he seems...

Here are a few of the highlights...

    Dining with Bush
    Taking a knighthood.
Appearing on cheesy American television shows.

Way to represent your audience man
  3. i posted something on this earlier macphisto.. it has to do with the one campaign and poverty in africa. although i tuned in from 8:30 til 10:00 and failed to see him, he must have been on the show pretty early.
  4. But the thing was he didn't talk about charity, he was instructing the 'idols'...not cool man, not cool.
  5. It''s quite strange what he's doing right now. The band is in the middle of their next album's recordings, and now he does this kind of things? Quite strange, if you ask me..

I think that you're quite right, and he misreresents his fanbase too (Bush)
  7. He was doing this for chairty, to get One.org out there to more people. Jesus Christ. The whole sell out thing is old now.

hahahaha i can think of many useful situations on a daily basis where i wish i could think of that line

this is not a comment on any of the above posters or for this situation, this is just a general comment: i think that "selling out" is usually just a "music snob club card" to rationalize a person's current musical preferences and to make them feel "more legit" about what they listen to. 9 times out of 10, i see it as the fans selling out on the band and not the other way around (good example, metallica fans who worship the first 4-5 albums then claim they suck after justice or black album).

I just saw it, he was right before the end when they sang American Prayer.

as much as I hate this show and all shows of this format, the cause was a very good one.

if only bono would preform One

  11. ok, well maybe you people are cool with having Bono appear on the cheesiest f*king show imaginable, and still be able to say ''thats my favourite lead singer'' without quavering, because i can't.

A.I is about the lack of talent...as opposed to bringing talent into the world it shuts the door on talent, and lets plain crap in the door.

*And he was instructor...not talking about Africa...
  12. When it comes to Bono I will always answer with this...

Great musician, good intentions when it comes to his charity work, but I wish he spent more time in the studio.
