  3. Self isolation means I've finally got some time to look at videos I fimed at the Sydney 2 show last year.

    Here's my first effort, Exit. A hightlight of the show for me!



    Apologies about the "belly button cam" angle. The camera was attached to the rail. So apologies for the "spirit fingers", or "spirit arms" in this case. There's no standing still during Exit, I was jumping around like a lunatic!

    For those interested in photography. This was filmed with a Panasonic LX100. Filmed in 4k, but rendered in 1080p, so I could crop, pan & zoom without loss of quality. Manual exposure, 1/60s, f/4.0, ISO 320, manual focus. A bit overexposed, wish I set the ISO to 250.

    Plenty of other videos to work on, from JT 2019 & e+i Europe. Haven't touched them, no excuses now!

    We'll see how long this lasts on Youtube. They always seem to take down my best videos. I don't know how others don't get flagged for copyright. If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears!

    PS. It's such, such, SUCH a great song and live moment. Wow.
  5. Fabulous audio to that video too; can’t wait to hear more. Like Sergio, I agree that Exit was a highlight of both JT tours. It unexpectedly shaded Bullet in terms of being moodier, harder and more malevolent.

    Yeah, was pleasantly surprised by the audio, since it's straight out of the camera. Didn't really want to download the only audio here for that show, as it's FLAC, so would be a huge file.

    So glad I finally got to see Exit live. Been dreaming of that for 30 years

    Bullet is up next. Half way through the editing, trying to stabilize some bad camera shake.

    Haha, that was the furthest away I was for any of the Aussie shows I went to Camped out in Brisbane, so had a great spot. But wasn't game to try to get my gear in, as they said security would be using metal detectors. Finally plucked up the courage to try & sneak it in at Sydney 2.

    I attached a selfie stick to the rail, with some thin wire. Used a cheap ball joint. So not worth too much, if security found it, I would have just tossed it.

    I've been doing it since 2015. With some success, & being shot down on other occasions

    London i+e was the first attempt, so just tried it with an action cam. Wish I had of used a good camera, as I was right on the e-stage rail for Party Girl

    Had quite a bit of luck for Paris i+e 1 & 2. Was on the main stage rail near Edge for the first show. As I became back row when the band went up to do the e-stage set, I raised the selfie stick to its full length (as it wasn't obstructing anybody's view). Security didn't seem to mind, so I've filmed all those songs with the selfie stick attached to the rail behind me, looking straight over the crowd. Great footage of the screen, especially Invisible & EBTTRT.

    Unfortunately, YouTube gave me heaps of copyright strikes. Banning the best songs. Don't know why I got them, while nobody else does

    For e+i security was more of an issue. London stopped me filming within the first song. Which sucked, as I was had a prime spot for Acrobat. Wanted to film with the "rail cam", while jumping around like a lunatic. Still filmed it, just holding the camera against the rail, trying to jump around, but not get shaky footage May still try to edit the footage now. After the YouTube problems previously I hadn't tried uploading anything. But I might just try to get it out there soon.

    Not much more luck in Belfast e+i. The camera got Bono's attention, got down on his knee, think he told me to "fuck off", I'm not a great lip reader though Got a few songs in, before Brian Murphy told me to remove the camera

  12. Well, for audio it's pretty huge isn't it?

    Don't get me wrong, I'd love a good audio bootleg. But living down in the arse end of the world, with crappy internet, I've got to watch my home internet usage. Only have 100GB for the month, so 1.5GB for audio I'm not sure about was a decent chunk.

    My LX100 filmed in 4k 100mbps, MP4 (AAC 2ch audio). So big file sizes. I think the MP4 for Exit is around 4GB?

    I hadn't planned it well, so my 128GB SD card ran out during Elevation. Swapped the camera out for a GoPro, should have taken my time & just swapped the SD cards instead.

    Was planning on rendering the edited video of Exit in 1080p MP4. Which would have been about 500MB. But the video had horrible black artefacts in a couple of places.

    So I ended up rendering it in cineform codec to 1080p. Which, like the original 4k file, was large, at around 3GB. Luckily the new month has just ticked over, as for me that's a large upload, & took the entire night!

    Finally we're about to upgrade to Australia's new (but still certainly not world leading) NBN broadband. So 500GB a month, at half decent speeds
