As in you'll resign as a U2start moderator, refuse to listen to their music, refuse to watch any videos and stop buying any U2 related material? or just throw a tantrum on Instagram like a certain super fan did when it was announced they would play India. Claimed she couldn't support a band that chose to play there yet still attended that same tour ??‍♂️.

    It would be highly hypocritical of the band if they played there. Supporting Amnesty International, etc, was clearly meaningless.
  3. It would be. However it's just a matter of time until they play somewhere like Saudi, Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc..

    Well they played the US so it is clearly meaningless ,many big international artists have played Saudi Arabia so why shouldn't U2?

  7. I mean there's India but Saudi Arabia would be a big no-no, but I don't see how they could be forced to play in Saudi if they didn't want to

    I don't think the death penalty exists for gay people in the US.

    I don't think they order journalists to be dismembered either.
  9. You could list reasons why they shouldn't play in America. You could list reasons why they shouldn't play in many of the countries that they do. Yet they still play there. Saudi will be no different.

    I'm sure you could find some people who think it should (as in a higher amount of people than you'd expect in a country's normal extremist population)...... just a thought

  11. I can't see them playing in Saudi just because like.... how much of a fan base have they got to play to there? How welcome would a liberal Irish Christian band be?

    Lol exactly this, there’s reasons they don’t play certain places. Saudi is a rare case where they have lots of money and influence to get acts to come. It’s a very fine line, but there’s reasons why U2 hasn’t played in every country and those reasons range from beliefs to economic to general interest.
