  2. I don't care about anything outside of that Heartland ofc as long as it includes a full pro shot performance of "Exit" on that tour because we need to see that.

    Yeah, that's what it lists on U2songs too indeed: "Anton Corbijn was with the band in the California desert in 2018, and it was during that same trip that the photograph used for promotion of the 2019 leg of The Joshua Tree Tour was shot by Ross Andrew Stewart. The photograph featured the band walking in the desert with their instruments."


    This happened after the LA shows. I remember listening to members of the crew discuss preparations.

  8. I listened to the Vegas and LA soundchecks and nothing new was rehearsed. Today was the first time I heard that they had performed Heartland for the desert shoot.

    Anton's been pretty clear that it's a concert film with some material at the start and end.

    We know the focus will be on Anton's films and The Joshua Tree footage. So you aren't going to lose any of the album songs. I can tell you that the San Diego footage has been used for the B-stage material, and the audio for the mix. Mexico was used for the wide shots, and from The Joshua Tree onwards.

    I think you'll have a short opening, with the band driving in, Patti Smith's voice over the opening credits, then a short performance of Heartland in the desert, going into the San Diego B-Stage footage, and then into the Mexico show. Or they reverse it and we see it at the end and see the band drive off.

    What will be at the other end? The band did perform both Sweetest Thing and Spanish Eyes in Mexico to have them on film. There's also rumour that they did another Joshua Tree outtake for film in studio in 2018. So if that material is used in some way, then the encore is probably the material most at risk at a cut for time.

    The Cure movie ran 20 minutes over 2 hours in theatre. You might get it all in there or you might have to hack something out. I was there for both nights, and The Sweetest Thing and Spanish Eyes didn't exactly blow me away. Nice to hear both, but I'd suspect they'd probably go with something more polished...

    Just some thoughts. Only thing I can offer is that the San Diego / Mexico stuff is being used, or was when the last audio / video mix was done. And I've not heard of them doing anything more since 2018 with it.

    Well that’s some reassuring stuff about it still being a concert film. Getting the JT album live in full is what I’m after so the rest would be a bonus really even though I mentioned full show. The more live material the better though.

    He called it a concert film with bits at the front and the back that are different. So probably an introduction and an outro of some sort. I really don't think this is going to be a documentary at all.
