Yup, I think it's been pretty good so far in the couple of hours I've heard - got great potential to do some really interesting things with it but they really have to figure out how to make it work globally though somehow without people having to resort to VPN's.

  3. This a picture from Wembley Stadium, either 14th or 15th August 2009.If you remember, the official site had a stack of various wallpapers from the 360 Tour you could download. This was one of them.I used the one from Santiago,Chile for my work pc with the mountains in the background of the stadium and claw.

The worldwide audience for this station is just sitting there waiting! Let's hope all U2 (and non-U2) fans get to tap into the source. What a great opportunity for the band to pioneer their archive.

It would be great to have intermittent 'live' broadcasts too from all the band. Great potential here.
  5. i love this performance of Desire
  6. Remember there are different “shows” on the channel. Right now is the U2 mixtape, which are songs U2 chose for the first 2 hours when the channel was first launched, so yes a lot of warhorses are being played. But about 10 mins before this “show” started, they played Beach Sequence off the Passengers album.

Think of it as TV. You’ll get reruns (Chris Rock interview, U2 Mixtape, etc.) but we’ll also get new or unreleased stuff like Desire live from iHeart.

It’s not a channel for just super die hards like us. They’ll play hip hop, 70s punk, their own live material, warhorses, rarities. They’re going to play everything and anything U2 or things U2 like themselves.

Yes you’ll hear One, but the next song on there could be I Love You Like Mad.

Cheers for the info, knew it rang a bell somewhere.
  8. another positive is that the band themselves will get the chance to actually rediscover their music. I guess before any tour when they start discussing setlist ideas, they do try to draw from their entire catalogue, but now they actually had the chance to really dive into their catalogue. I mean, they literally have to fill almost all 24 hours of the day with their songs! So maybe through this process they'll fall in love again with some old, forgotten tunes of theirs that they'll like to try out on a future tour (?)

To be fair, I'd consider myself a super diehard lol and I'm enjoying it - nothing amazingly new to me as of yet - but there's definitely been some interesting stuff played.

There's massive future potential. Edge already confirmed they will be dipping into their vaults and playing some unheard stuff - esp. from the last 15 years (got a feeling we'll probably hear a fair bit of 360 material - prob nothing that we haven't heard in all the great recordings out there, but will still be good to hear previously unreleased/unplayed live material), but there could be allsorts to come out of the vaults in the months ahead.

Edge also confirmed he's working on some music pieces for the station. And he has also said he would even consider playing good quality bootlegs on air which would be pretty amazing. Plus great potential for interviews, documentaries, fan interaction, actual special live programmes perhaps, and maybe also a great platform that the band can use for a bit of occasional activism if the masters at Sirius don't object.

I'm loving the few words from the band here and there introducing songs or their favourite songs and talking about why. How about an hour long programme where each band member does their own playlist of non-U2 songs and talks about why they like it so much.

I'd really like it if all 4 of them got together via the magic of the interwebs once a month or whatever for an hour and discussed each album song by song, the making of it - all that kind of stuff. Can't see it happening mind, but who knows?!

I'd love a studio version for live recording of U2s Boy Falls From The Sky
  11. This two-way interview with David Byrne is really good - very enjoyable stuff.
  12. Just recorded the interview for my archive.
