1992-08-16 - Washington, District of Columbia - Robert F. Kennedy Stadium a.k.a. "Calling The White House"

    Sound:

Fantastic. Some hiss here an there, but this is one you can definitely crank up on 12 in the car. Would like to feel more of the drums here, if you know what I'm mean. I like to feel the bass drum. There is something about Larry's kick that just drives everything. You can hear it pefectly here but it doesn't hit the complete high I'm looking for.

    Performance:

One of the most enthusiastic performances of The Fly I've heard from the ZooTV tour. Mysterious Ways is blistering HOT! Shit this is the boot to get. Ok, maybe its the beer tonight, but I'm so into this boot right now! Great performances all round. The band has definitely settled into the ZooTV setting and delivering sensationally. Until The End Of The World sounding superb! Little flub on New Years Day but hey... they're human. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For was absolutely great. The acoustic verison hits the spot for me!

There's not one bad track here. Everyone in attendance had to be blown away.

    Other notable tracks are:
    1. Satellite Of Love - I belive this song was perfect for ZooTV, really captured the essence
    2. Sunday Bloody Sunday - great to see it in the set for ZooTV
    3. Running To Stand Still - I don't even have to say anything

This show ends with 4 unbelievable performances. Ultraviolet is perfect and rocks your face off! One of the best boots for this song I've heard.

Overall: 9/10 - Get this show if you don't have it. A truely sensational date to cherish. I'll be searching for a better one from this tour.
  2. Hey great review! You're on the money with the Fly. One of the best ZooTV versions I've heard. They just sounded like they were in the mood to go nuts that night didn't they? And they nailed virtually everything they did.

Meaning time is ripe for some of their Pop era numbers, including Hold Me Kiss Me...

Please (Pittsburgh 2005) and If You Wear That Velvet Dress (Gothenburg 2005) were snippeted. That's about it they did. But it'd be great to hear a proper version of Please or Discotheque again.

Toronto and Chicago 05 for Discotheque. They are proper versions

I was wondering why I couldn't find it anywhere on my computer or in my DVD sets. I've got the May 7 and May 12 DVD (plus Live From Chicago) and it wasn't there as well as every other Chicago '05 bootleg...except the 20th, where it happened to be played. And no Toronto bootleg has come up yet, has it?

If you were aware during the tour, the following were all rumoured to be or were indeed soundchecked: Even Better Than The Real Thing, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Ultra Violet, Mofo, A Celebration, Exit, Wire, Lemon, One Step Closer, Surrender, Seconds, Electrical Storm, Please, Spanish Eyes, Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car, The Wanderer and The Unforgettable Fire.
  7. Discotheque from Toronto is up on U2mp3s.com. Nowhere near as Chicago but still decent
