Originally posted by aussiemofoU2 have always been political...it's who they are. They've been criticised for being too political ever since the War Tour. Why would they stop now? I've no doubt it's played a large part in how super popular they've become over the years. I think the argument here should be not to tone down on the political but just tone down on the speeches. Bono was preaching every two or three songs just about. That's too much.

Hehe, opinions differ. But at least, give LoveTown another try. Dublin 1989-12-26 en Dublin 1989-12-31 and all the Rotterdam LoveTown shows are amazing!![]()
OT: Arghh I don''t want such a long speech before 'One' anymore...It's great wat he says, but it's too much for rock shows. I heard sometime that Larry, Adam and Edge were annoyed by these speeches, so they used a timer during the shows. They wanted Bono not to speech longer than a number of minutes. Anyone else heard this, is it true they did that?

Originally posted by germcevoypolitical is ok but please just let it come through the songs. Love And Peace is fine, SBS is fine but no need for speeches or blindfolds etc. Use the songs to get your message across man
Originally posted by drewhigginsAt one show where all the politicians were lined up and watching, I think Larry actually fell asleep (reference from U2byU2).
What show was it if anyone knows? But get rid of the African flags, the eight minute speeches but keep the coexist screen - it looks awesome.
