1. Well that crossover to non U2 fans was probably cemented when it was used as the theme tune to The Premiership, the channel in the UK ITV used it from August 2001 till May 2004 when they won a broadcast rights package to show highlights of the English Premier League.

not in Holland. It was just because Beautiful Day was on the radio all the time. Later Stuck and Elevation were also well received.
  3. I remember that they had a brief sec clip on the old U2.com of just the ENO fragments. Like the last 4 seconds of the song.
  4. With no discernable guitar.

I can also remember hearing it for the first time on the radio, it was in our local, annual 'feestweek' and that probably was indeed August 31 or September 1. Maybe we're all a bit bored of the song by now, but I still think it's a very special song which really captures the feeling of that era (with the Olympics, that video clip and non U2 fans that were suddenly excited about U2 etc).

I remember to be dissapointed at that time already. I was (still am) in love with AB-Zooropa-Pop era and this was kind of back to basics. I'm still not in love with ATYCLB, except for Kite which is a brilliant song.

Maybe it's because that later i got used to that kind of songs, that i do love HTDAAB
  7. I don't think the production or the sequencing on ATYCLB was as good as some others. Maybe some new Recordings or mixes will shed some light on the doubters.

It was never made available to download/stream officially in 2000 there were no legitimate streaming music sites back then ,most people had to make an effort and buy it in their local record store.

  9. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever anticipate anybody on here chomping at the bit for an ATYCLB reissue.
  10. Did not like the production either, and still not very fond of it. To me, it sounds thin, not 'fleshy' enough, it's hard to describe, I will give it another listen soon. Maybe its the sound of the bass and the drums that doesn't seem right to me? I like the songs, mostly, but somehow this record is lacking something.
  11. It was streamed on U2.com in the fall of 2000 but that was before streaming as we know it now. Maybe on Real Player.
