1. Gonna come out and say it: Grace has really grown on me a lot. I've enjoyed most of this album more with the past few listens, even if it isn't one of my favorites.
  2. With the exception of Grace, I’ve always loved the whole album. It’s in my top 5

    1.Boy
    2.The Joshua Tree
    3.Achtung Baby
4.All That you can’t leave behind
    5.War

    1 being the best.

When I look at the world I think is a great song. And I don’t know how people can compare grace and wild honey with U2’s worst stuff. I do think like most u2 songs a lot of them sound better live but again that’s not unusual for the band. I still think some fans just don’t like it when there band becomes too mainstream even when it’s very good.
Meh, it's subjective, but your last point doesn't really add up. I don't think a fan, in U2's case, would randomly dislike the album just because it's "too mainstream".

I think it being too mainstream does bother a lot of fans. Its almost as if ‘yeah right as if stuck in a moment is better than Sunday Bloody Sunday’ it is imo but older fans won’t think so and I think it annoys or baffles them that a new generation of fan could like the newer material over the older stuff.
  5. "Being too mainstream" "U2"

    What
  6. To be fair I think Elevation era is the one time that U2 were actually mainstream?

I'm sorry I'm still not with you at all, but Stuck better SBS? You must be off your head.
  8. Yeah, but were they *too* mainstream?
  9. Exactly it’s that kind of mindset right there as if how is stuck better than SBS. People almost jumping on the bandwagon of the earlier stuff is better and not even giving the new stuff a chance. I wouldn’t put SBS in my top 50 u2 songs, I like it but I prefer songs like Babyface, when I look at the world, California. But I think ATYCLB particularly annoys fans because a ‘new song’ is being seen as so popular when it’s ‘not as good as the old stuff’.
  10. The problem with ATYCLB was that it never got the sequencing right. It doesn't flow like JT or AB which had really high standards.
