Just for the record - I don't go anywhere near illicit substances...just excessive amounts of caffeine

We've got some coffee here at work called Dark Magic. Strong as a mutha. There's enough energy in this stuff to power The Edge's rack!

Aha, we've got Kenco in the kitchen

Something tells me we've strayed a bit off-topic...lol.

Not entirely, I did mention that my coffee could power The Edge's rack AND remember the interview footage from Vertigo tour... I think it was on the CBS 60 Mins interview with Ed Bradley (I might be wrong) but where Adam showed that he had a cappucino machine backstage.
  7. I wonder if Dallas ever yearns for The Edge to go back to his War setup:

4-5 guitars, 2 amps and a few effects.

    lol, good comeback

I need to pick thy brains again if that's alright - a) WGRYWH - he's usually played that live on the cream LP (RIP )? and b) what the fuck is it that he plays for LAPOE? It looks like a squashed acoustic?

    Hello again:

    1) He used a Stratocaster at least once: Feb 27th, 1992

Most of the other ZOO footage I've seen was with a Les Paul Customs for "Who's Gonna Ride..." (full band electric versions)
    Rotterdam (better footage) 1992
    (Oakland 1992)

He used the Gibson J200's during the Vertigo tour for acoustic renderings of the tune.
    Minneapolis, Sept 2005

... with the exception of Hawaii 2006 where he played it on the Explorer. (As that was the guitar in his hands when Bono brought that dude onstage to play piano.

    2) Love and Peace Or Else: On the album Edge used his Gibson J200. But live he opted for the Line 6 Variax 700. The Variax 700 are a digital modeling guitar. Translation: Digitally, it can be made to sound like various vintage acoustics, 6-string and 12-string, banjo, mandolin... and even alternate tunings without actually re-tuning.

The silver sparkle finish is a custom job. (As is the one Edge used for The Fly on the Vertigo tour, that was black with the red "Vertigo" circles around the soundhole)

If you go to www.myspace.com/fact23 and go to the video section... you can see a clip of me playing one on "In God's Country" when I did a guest spot with a great tribute band called The Joshua Tree. Chas, from The Joshua Tree, refinished he Variax in Edge-used Edge-approved silver sparkle. It was the first time I'd played one of those and it played great! I want one for myself!

Nice one - although I'm assuming he kept the LP for the full electrics on Vertigo Tour aswell? e.g. Amsterdam, Croke Park, Glasgow etc...

(on the video it looks like he uses that Gretsch Country Gent or the Gibson thing that looks alike...to me anyway! )

Yeah I remember coming across the Line 6 gizmo, damn clever stuff! Wouldn't mind getting hold of one

The LAPOE Variax is one weird piece of kit, like I said earlier it just looks really flat/squashed!...
