1. Does anyone else think he should keep his blue LP? Not many people play those. It could be a defining instrument. (next to the explorer.)

blue LP? which one is that? the only blue one I think I've seen him play was used during the HTDAAB promo tour, the one he played Vertigo on. Is that the one?
  3. Its an 81 that hes selling. Its allegedly only been studio used.

Would have been cool to have seen him play it... Maybe he'd have used it onstage if he'd had it during the PopMart era = it's ahve fit in fine with all the other colourful things.

ah ok, i saw that on the auction site...you referred to it being a signature guitar, were you speaking about the future?

    EDIT: reread, gotcha
  6. Yeah, if he had kept it it coulda become one of his trademark guitars.

It will also be interesting to see what other new toys (guitars/effects/amps) for the up-coming album and tour.

I know that The Edge got a few (new to him) vintage Rickenbacker 6-string electrics. It'll be interesting to see if/what he uses them for...

I'd like to see the SG used a bit more. Or maybe even the backup Pelham blue SG.

Although I'd REALLY like to see him play the White Falcon live. (Seen in the Pride video and in R&H for Desire and Van Diemen's Land)

Me to ! My 2nd favorite Edges guitar ! ( after BIG EXPLORER for sure ) .
Do you know something about effects used on The Unforgettable Fire album ? Especially I want to know delay for Pride - If is this sound made by his old Korg A3 or something different ...
and the sound for Wire - there's some delay with kind of distortion ...

I'll be grateful for some more infos by you about edges sound. Thanks a lot man !

The Edge began using the Korg SDD3000 during the War tour. So it is assuredly on The Unforgettable Fire album. He did still use Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man in the studio - some.

I surely don't know everything. I have learned a lot from other guitar plyers and U2 fans. FIrst and foremost being a good listener and asking questions from tribute band Edges' and from The Edge and Dallas too - when the opportunities have arisen.

I am the owner of the Yahoo U2 Recording group.

There are a lot of knowledgeable folks there that can help answer many a guitar, drum and bass U2 related question. Who's there? TONS of players and some U2 tribute Edges' - including the guitarists from NY's The Unforgettable Fire and LA's The Joshua Tree. So you might want to go on over and subscribe.

I play drums and guitars. I've played drums longer.
