  6. I found it odd that Edge used that tan Rickenbacker(sp?) during Mysterious Ways on the Vertigo tour. I prefer the red one

It was all a matter of different tunings. It's easier to have two guitars tuned differently, especially with 12-string guitars, than to have to re-tune the guitar.

While the "Mapleglo" finish might not look as cool, the guitar itself sounded great.

The 1966 Ric 330 12-string in mapleglo finish was tuned to E-flat for "Mysterious Ways".
The 1965 Ric 330 12-sting in fireglo finish was tuned to E (standard tuning) for "Sometimes You Can't Make It...".

The original fireglo Ric, the 1967 Ric 330 12-string died in the flood.

He's got backups for the 1966 Mapleglo and the 1965 Fireglo. I saw Dallas playing a black 330 12-string during the set-up before the Glendale, AZ show in April 2005. I think it is the backup for the Mapleglo, as it was tuned to E. I think it's the same one that The Edge used on Japanese TV in 2006 to mime "Window In The Skies"
