  2. This whole debate originated from an opinion of mine so I will answer even if this is all terribly offtopic


    -I didn't say I don't like Popmart.
    -I didn't say I don't like the Pop album (God forbid!).
    -I didn't say I don't like their warhorses performances during Popmart.

    I just said that I hope they don't ever reinvent I Will Follow like they did in Popmart again. The segue from Mofo rocks big time, sure, but I Will Follow itself sounded weak (Bono's unsteady Popmart voice didn't help), strangely short without the "Your eyes" bridge and overall not on par with the epic performances from other tours (specially -but not only- TUF and Lovetown).

    That doesn't have a thing to do with the Pop album, or the stage, the setlist or anything else regarding the Popmart tour. If they had segued a Lovetown-like version of IWF after Mofo it would all be alright with me

  4. Very interesting, hadn't seen it before.

    I don't like the idea of submerging everyone in the audience into their own headphones-experience, I'm afraid it might gonna kill some of the "community feeling" that you feel at the concert. What if you want to speak to the person besides you? You gotta take your earphone out, and they have to take theirs out as well... Hmmm. I see the advantages ,but I also see the disadvantages. Not liking it (although having soundboards of every show obviously makes me drool).

  6. Yeah well, the good thing is that he's not talking about replacing the way it's now, just about enhancing the experience... In U2start language, right now we listen to audience shows, with this technology we'd get a matrix of both the audience sound and the soundboard coming from the app... Live.

    The thing is that this is already 2 years late, which could mean anything from "we almost have it ready" to "nah forget it, it didn't work"...
  8. Yeah, it's the same video, just shortened in order to fit into instagram's 15 second threshold

    @raven I don't understand how a pair of earphones aren't going to replace your way of listening to the show... Unless they are providing us another pair of ears , which would be funny to see, and would fit with Bono's desire of doing "something no one has done before" lol

    If he gets a bionic arm I can't see why we can't get some extra ears!

    Maybe its just that I've never had high quality earphones that really isolate the sound... I usually can still hear the traffic or whatever while I'm listening music, so I'd guess that I would still be able to hear the sound coming from the huge sound system in the stadium/arena even if I'm listening to the soundboard in the app...
