    I think most of us are pretty sick of the constant comparisons between Bruce Springsteen/Pearl Jam and U2 to be honest They're totally different bands with totally different approaches to their live shows and totally different crowd types, so the comparison is absurd.

    Wow, U2 playing Kashmir? That would have been epic.

  6. LA 5 was amazing, I was by the b-stage railing and got some WILD photos and videos. Adam looked at us and smiled because our little corner was SCREAMING the lyrics to Even Better at him LOL
  7. OH AND I MET BONO!!! He asked us about playing the Troubles and we told himF FUCK YES LOL. You guys need to fund me to go to more shows, last time I went they debuted The Fly and this time Volcano and Ordinary Love!

  9. The one time I meet Bono the only things I say are,"FUCK YES" and he smiled at us HAHAHA. He didn't sign anything I brought him but he tried, he signed a lot of stuff so I can't blame him. 10 songs from SOI/era is amazing, two of my friends got into them because I made them listen to that album and watch OL on Fallon with me on TV and made sure to catch them at the Oscars last year. It was very full circle to see that song in particular being played (same with Invisible, I remember them texting me,"U2's COMMERCIAL JUST AIRED, IT LOOKS SICK!"

    THE ONLY PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU'RE BY THE B-STAGE YOU CAN'T SEE SHIT THAT'S GOING ON AT THE MAIN STAGE. MY HEART SANK WHEN I COULD HEAR OUT OF CONTROL AND DIDN'T SEE ANY OF IT... FFS TURN ON THE SCREENS FOR THAT. (sorry for the caps I just needed to vent a bit about that it was depressing the b-stage is dark it felt like we were outside missing the show for a bit!)
  10. Bono's voice in person is incredible, he may sound weaker through a stream or bootleg, but his voice RESONATES live. WOWY, Pride, BD and One sounded so strong in person but I wouldn't be surprised if they sounded normal on the stream or booteg.

    Excellent point! These are the things that are totally unrelated to any setlist discussion and in fact so much more defining of what a U2 show is. The word is EMOTION. It will grab you during a concert, and it may find you listning to a bootleg recording. It can even surprise you listning to a stream provided by a Brazilian woman-girl!

    The problem is, of course, that emotions can not be critical; that is, there are no grey emotions - unless you are on (medication) drugs... Emotions prompt you to say: "U2 is the best" or "U2 totally sucks." But without emotions, one tend to see only "the setlist" and valuate it with a calculus of how many songs are rotating, and how many songs are new/rare/unrealistic.

    I'm glad to see both sides reflected here on u2start. And I hope we can all see the fun and humour of the two coming together.
