Thanks for the shout, sorry for not answering before - I wasn't online until now and I haven't read the whooole of last night discussion haha. It looks like the same Telecaster (or very similar) to the one he used at Jools Holland, doesn't it?

    You say..
    one love,
    one life
    When it's..
    one need in the night

    and then later there is
2 - or sounds like two
    Well it's..
    too late,
    tonight
To drag the past out in..
    ..to the light

Don't know if the B-Man thought this through when originally writing the lyrics, but seems like he's noticed this sort of poetic symmetry...when he points to people to sing, he shows up one finger for the first part and then two fingers for the second.
    At 1:27 for one
    At 2:19 for two

Or maybe it's just late at night and I'm reading too much into this great video!

Another brilliant post I had noticed the symmetry a long time ago on the paper, but never expected Bono to notice and gesticulate it! Now I just have to watch many vids from previous concerts and tours and see if he was already doing it!

But on the other hand, I would like if it remains a special closer for selected nights only. Ah!
    No debate for me.
Bad and 40 should be in every single show.
At least the ones I listen to.

(Yes, I know I didn't mentioned Streets along with those two).
  4. The reason why they played "40" last night was as a tribute to Dennis... As Bono acknlowledges on U2byU2, he was the guy who started singing the "Hooow looong" refrain at Red Rocks, which became one of the defining moments in U2's history. Last night was the night to play it in his honour.
  5. Someone already mentioned that a second audience recording for LA 1 appeared on u2t ?
I think it's even better than the first source (at least this 2nd has the intermission included and
a good deal of the intro!)

He also acknowledged this last night before playing the song. Still, it's that good it really should be played more often.
