I didn't see anything wrong with it.
It's fun live! It looked like they were just jamming. Very casual.

Originally posted by LikeASong:The reason why they played "40" last night was as a tribute to Dennis... As Bono acknlowledges on U2byU2, he was the guy who started singing the "Hooow looong" refrain at Red Rocks, which became one of the defining moments in U2's history. Last night was the night to play it in his honour.

never heard this theory before, never thought about it myself.
25 years listening that song, bored of listening to it.
And now you tell me there's this little gem has been hiding on plain sight all the time? great!

Another brilliant postI had noticed the symmetry a long time ago on the paper, but never expected Bono to notice and gesticulate it! Now I just have to watch many vids from previous concerts and tours and see if he was already doing it!

And of all the tracks on SOI I think California is one of my least favorites. Though I also love the album so I still really like the song.

Thanks for the shout, sorry for not answering before - I wasn't online until now and I haven't read the whooole of last night discussion haha. It looks like the same Telecaster (or very similar) to the one he used at Jools Holland, doesn't it?

Absolutely.
Regarding California... I was nicely suprised with the promo performance at Jools Holland, but the actual tour performances have been really WEAK so far. By far the worst of the performed SOI songs, I agree with blink and Kris... It does nothing special, besides that it doesn't really fit in this setlist; on top of it all, Edge screwed the solo the other day (and his guitar -or at least the string he plays the solo on- was sliiiightly out of tune)!
