  1. And of all the tracks on SOI I think California is one of my least favorites. Though I also love the album so I still really like the song.

It's fun live! It looked like they were just jamming. Very casual.

Last night was the night to play it in his honour.
wow, I didn't even know that. that causes some extra chills listening to this...

25 years listening that song, bored of listening to it.
And now you tell me there's this little gem has been hiding on plain sight all the time? great!

Had never noticed it myself either!! This revived the song for me Hiding in plain sight indeed!!

Cheers man, let me know if you actually check that out and find any answers

The reasons for me are, weak intro, Edge's bland guitar tone, no real climax in the song, monotonous vocals. All in all the song falls flat.
  5. Absolutely.

Regarding California... I was nicely suprised with the promo performance at Jools Holland, but the actual tour performances have been really WEAK so far. By far the worst of the performed SOI songs, I agree with blink and Kris... It does nothing special, besides that it doesn't really fit in this setlist; on top of it all, Edge screwed the solo the other day (and his guitar -or at least the string he plays the solo on- was sliiiightly out of tune)!

Yep it's the same one actually. Guess I was drunk last night !!

Seems to work better in a small setting. I guess they'll play it tonight
  8. A good song should work equally good in a small club and in a 80.000 people stadium; California is an over-produced track on the album (my main complain about it), and therefore they fail when trying to translate it to a live setting.
  9. Tonight ?

    The ocean
    11 O’ clock, tick tock
    I will follow
    The miracle (of Joey Ramone)
    Electric Co.
California (There is no end to love)
    Iris (Hold me close)
    Cedarwood Road
    Song for someone
    Raised by wolves
    Invisible
Pride (In the name of love)
    Beautiful day
    Bad
    Volcano
    Out of control
    “40”

I do not agree one of the highlights of the lp for me, should've been a single. Sounds good live, it just does not fit in (yet), they have to find a better place for it.
