My eternal counter point is that they really don't need to do it. They could, but I don't think is a flaw if they don't do it.

On the other hand... one could argue that the often criticized Sweetest Thing fits that description... old song, long time without being played live, and when it was played live it wasn't overused...
Then there's also October which totally fits your description. There's the snippet/version/whatever of both Hands and Zooropa. Gloria, The Electric Co, and even Out Of Control were greeted in this category when they first were played this tour.

So... I don't think they neglected that front, is just that they really are not counting that some few fans will listen to every single show from home.
I'm a Springsteen fan. Last tour 15 shows / 135 different songs. BUT I've resigned myself now that U2 will always disappoint us on this subject so no point getting mad

Pride sounded so fresh after missing a majority of 360, it all worked so well and it was probably the best shows I've seen. As long as they're performing at the same level (despite the rotation of a song or 2, me personally I'd rather have California than Angel of Harlem/Desire/Sweetest Thing) then that's good. Just haven't had much time to watch or listen to the shows lately, just been judging by the setlists and clips here and there.

Chicago was another level to most of the tour. Really great stand there.

I'm the same with Pearl Jam, but I just thought it was pointless to even consider moaning about the setlist. There's just no point.
  5. I had hoped Dublin might get it's Zoo Station / Spanish eyes type special song though

Well yeah, you sort of made your own point invalid. You said that people only see them once and like everything, but you don't obviously don't understand people. I'm a critic, always have been. I don't like everything my favourite bands do. I'm a critic on some things on this tour, but setlists are worthless of criticising now. Look at U2's history and you have your answer.

What you're saying is that you are a bigger fan than everyone else and your opinion is a priority. Hence my initial comment.
  11. You joining us on Thursday? See other topic.
