1. What the hell are you guys talking about with the avatars and stuff?
  2. I just pointed out that feeling entitled to demand the band to change their setlist is like feeling entitled to demand someone to change their avatar, just on the basis that someone would prefer that and jumping from "they could do it" to "they must do it".

Tim then further my point to say that setlist rotation like avatar rotation is not really important, the important thing is to have an original avatar or setlist even if you use the same one everyday, after all if we want setlist or avatar variation, we can just look other user's avatars or listen to different bands.

Also, following your point, obviously since U2 is not playing the same songs that any other band is playing we get that "variation in avatars" as we do in here, but... what about just the U2 shows Bart avatar? he's been wearing the same avatar Every.Single.Day.Since.Months.Now... it's sooo boring! it's not even on rotation! at least change it every week! we're tired of you wearing the same avatar! boo! you're so lazy and scared of what we might think if you add some variety to your avatar! boo again! I want to see a different avatar from you every week otherwise it means that you're lazy and weak and boring! boo!

although, honestly, I agree with Tim... setlist variation is not really important, just like it's not important if you keep your avatar every day, what matters is that you have a really nice and original avatar, even if you decide to wear it every day... if we want variation, we can always look at some other artists shows member's avatars.
wow that avatar analogy is sooo deep and funny... you are just annoying as hell, setlist variation is important to some people so just live with it and stop acting like they are entitled morons, its just wishful thinking, GOT IT? maybe you are a sheep which agrees with everything U2 do but some people still have their own opinion and it doesnt mean that they dont love the band and the tour...

same goes for your "brother in arms" ahn and his idiotic formula - havent been to the show = you have no right to complain about setlist, thats completely ridiculous, learn to seperate performance and setlist...

do you wanna make it illegal to have a different opinion or what?
  4. Please keep it friendly peoples. We all love the same band and music. Respect above all.

An open discussion is fine but leave out bad words or calling people things.

Can't we just stick with a discussion on the setlist and each others preferences? This is a setlist discussion topic, no discussion on who's right and who's not.
  5. *I Will Follow being played every day is not working for me. It should be on rotation along with OOC an TEC.
I don't think it's really connected that much with Iris in the show since Bono's "mom speech" is after IWF anyway.
And they should include at least a couple of obvious songs (G-11OC) in that rotation combo.

*I don't care about Even Better and Mysterious Ways, much less being played everyday. Those two should join the next two spots on the rotational roster.
Right now, I often skip them.

    * Troubles, Bad and AIWIY should be a fixed rotation spot instead of just being there in case they feel like to playing one more song.

*I don't look forward to the end of the show... Neither ISHF nor One work for me as closers and I would prefer if they find a way to include Forty everyday.

I would be extremely happy if they did all that and I strongly believe that all that shouldn't be that hard, wouldn't disrupt the show's narrative and the show would be for me like twice as good s is now.

But if they don't do it I can either say "oh well" and continue enjoying what they are playing, or be disappointed about it and stop listening the shows, or complain about it and start claiming that the band is lazy or scared or weak and making fun of them because they're not doing what would be more enjoyable for me.

The person doing the last option, is acting with a lot of entitlement.

We can have setlists discussions and not liking everything the band does without acting like entitled kids.

[edit] And yes, my avatar analogy was deep and funny. Thanks.

  7. They will never stop playing Mysterious Ways because everybody goes nuts when that song is on.... They really should rotate I Will Follow with or Mofo or Lemon, or another old song... Imagine how badass would me... The Miracle-Electric Co-Vertigo-Gloria

Or the ones who bought a ticket for 2 back to back shows expecting them to be different and the whole experience; only to find out hours before showtime that it's going to be the same show each night. Save a few switchouts.

They have a legitimate right to complain.

Also a lot of bands are playing the same songs as U2. And playing it better.

    Achtung Babies for example.

    And 3 things:

1- The band are playing it safe
2- The band are chickening out
3- The band are being stupid

What's wrong with a picture of Bono? I've seen other users ("members", Glenn dixit) with a Bono avatar and nobody is complaining about it, so why are you so lazy that you can't even do that? it's amazing how many good avatars you're just ignoring because you care that much about what the rest of the forum might think and in the end you just chicken out because you don't have the balls to change it.

The evidence that you're scared to change it is right there in your avatar, since you still have the same.

What's wrong with this picture? [image] It's sooo easy to change it and have it as avatar, if you wanted to you would've change it already, but obviously you're too lazy to do it.

Your avatar is not working out, but here we are in "where the avatars have no change" LOL...

I'm not even asking for a weird psychodelic avatar, just a little bit more of color, that's all...

Why don't you do what I would like you to do? obviously because you're lazy and scared of what people will think of you, there's no other logical explanation.

Where did this all of a sudden come from Jaguar ? And what have you been drinking ?

I personally think that changing your avatar regularly reflects a very unstable life and a total lack of selfconfidence

*Grabs popcorn and watches the show*

EDIT : seen your explanation a few posts later. Worst comparison ever
  10. about a month or so before the first IE show I attended I started playing the album in heavy rotation,,,and I was surprised to find that I really like every song on the fucking thing, and all of them come across live better than expected too. hmm just had a thought that 15-20 yrs from now this may be looked at as their third best album and tour
  11. Not sure about the album but definitely agree about the tour. Setlist criticism only happens (and only matters) a few days, weeks or months into the tour... When time goes by, the lack of setlist changes is forgotten and all that remains is the tour concept, what it achieved, how the audience enjoyed it, how much people it reached... See Zoo TV for the best example possible. 2 years, 150 shows, very few setlist changes... and widely considered as the most groundbreaking and best tour of all time.
