right on, for an actual fan this tour is still shit. but for the majority of the audience on a night by night basis this show will resonate..i might have to spend some time on my list though...JT, AB, ATYCLB, HTDAAB...SOI fighting it out with Zooropa, not counting R&H...for now

  4. off topic but the thought is incomplete. I play ATYCLB more than Bomb, but think Bomb has more REALLY GOOD SONGS than any album than JT and AB. there is no Bad or Pride or SBS on Bomb, but the majority of songs are stronger than those albums...shit what happened to North star and Glastonbury and all those great 360 Euro show tunes they played...ha got it back on topic = so are we really waiting for songs of experience to create a new dynamic on next years swing or is that great stuff or is it just lost in the ether...?
  5. fans when presented with multiple shows in their town go to multiple shows...especially when, before tickets go on sale, the band says they would like to present the tour in a back to back experience and play around the idea of ....you get the picture. Well sure enough the entire tour gets released in at least one back to back show in every city they first went on sale for... many fans bought tickets to ACHIEVE the 2 show experience the band had "spoke" about delivering. The band has not delivered on the back to back experience for the fans

that idea made it all the way to rehersal i guess the band cant do it, i dont know the reason but they are scared to take risk they have always been the band who make a setlist a pretty much stick to it with little set change.
during popmart barley anything was changed and us "fans'' still have not gotten used to the fact that u2 play it safe alittle to much sometimes, well thats my thought

and I do love all of this but I say, as I have before, zoo was just some different kind of monster and all comparisons should be thrown out...the change in sound was so different and...

the beauty of this site is that if you take a tour like Vertigo you can listen to many different presentations of the show if you skip around the entire tour. I was hoping for more of that this tour, I understand Bono's accident and hope they set fire to Europe on the next leg, but it does come off as a little safe

    BINGO!

Initially, I was going to both shows to experience more variety - do a little "song hunting" as Nick likes to call it. Until recently, I was pretty disappointed with the fact that they pulled the chute on their initial "promise."

I've gotten over all of this now and have realized that I will be seeing two cool shows (well, pretty much one show on two different nights) with two (different) friends of mine who are both really looking forward to a U2 concert. One of them has never even seen the band and the other is a bigger fan than me!

    It's going to be great.
  10. With the above said, It'd be nice if they pulled out New Year's Day during one of the Toronto shows. If IWF and SBS are getting played every night, this one should be a candidate to be brought in every once in a while.

We've said this before but, somewhat ironically, the lack of social media in 1992/1993 helped make the tour the success that it was - or at least it kept the band from being criticized for not switching things up.
  12. seen 4 shows so far and no Bad...F#&K can't believe the odds, actually just 1 out of the 12 shows I've seen since Zoo they've played Bad. Anyone beat that? #U2sStairwayToHeaven
