1. Lol, 1:26, Bono with his microphone is his hands, and the next shot he has a water bottle in his hand
  2. Well it contains all of these things I try to avoid when cutting a multicam. So they annoy me - we are trying to be as professional as we can with amateur stuff, and the professionals just bring up stuff looking amateurish.
The difference is - Andy got paid to cut that to me questionable edit and U2 want quite some money for it.

They get nearly 120€ from me and I could expect it to be HIGH quality and not only technical picture wise. But Rose Bowl tought me, they just don't care.
  3. I just noticed this.. now THAT is bad haha

  4. 1:05 isn't a great camera angle either.

That's fair, didn't know you made super cuts. What's an example of a good concert (professional) cut to you? Anything that U2 has done? I'm guessing you aren't a fan of Boston or Chicago either haha
  6. I usually don't watch concerts I didn't attend. Why should I? Nothing relates me to them. I just risked a view on that one, as I pre ordered the box. I think about cancelling that.

I'm an amateur, working with amateur stuff. But I try to avoid 2sec cuts, cuts to one of them who instantly moves out of the scene, or a zoom onto a face, that's completely hidden. We try to get the best out of inferior material (compared to high end cameras), which of course often is not easy or not possible.
On amateur cams you have to live with the fact, they sometimes loose focus, a several thousand euros camera like they use should not have that problem at all. Same with zooming in harsh jumps instead of smoothy going. I often try to avoid using those scenes then, which you sometimes cannot avoid, because you might not have a better source for this scene.
They do have uninterrupted recordings from like 40 cameras and surely would have another perspective not losing focus or something the like. But Hamilton cut the blurry one in, the jumping zoom, the fast cuts, Adam moving out of the scene etc.
That to me does not look very professional. The viewer should have the abilty to at least realize the scene and picture and enjoy it, before it's gone or changed again. And that needs more than 1-2sec. Even for a song like IWF or OOC it's a tad too short and fast. Nobody would move their heads as fast in a concert as these cuts are.

Maybe I see it differently being a concert photographer for almost 12 years now because you constantly watch the action thru a lens before getting a shot, but from professionals, I expect more than that. Especially with high professional technical equipment and a big pool of sources.
  7. This is what I really dislike about combining multiple nights Once you've seen these things, you can never unsee them.
  8. I will still buy it though

Good old Red Rocks, Sydney, Slane, Mexico (is it one or both nights? - but don't remember any mistake like that)
  10. Meh, not a huge bother. I think it would bother me more if the movie had a date attached to it, but since it's just called "Live in Paris" it doesn't really bother me that much that they'd choose the best shots.

Mexico should be one. Chicago and Boston were 2 nights.

Sydney....noone knows I guess. Though Adam wasn't there, they probably have still used Edge/Bono/Larry shots from the first night. It's at least not impossible they did so.

A friend noticed scenes from 11/11 show in the IWF clip.
