1. My wife has been watching them with me (Elevation Tour), but I wouldnt say she is a fan. I think she hates them because i play them so much. Although I once caught her singing along to unknown caller
  2. My wife is still stuck in the Joshua Tree/Rattle & Hum-era, that's where she knows them from.
She's a huge fan of "All I Want Is You", for instance.
  3. No, but they have learned to accept it
  4. If only...when I mentioned a show for Zurich has been added and it would be possible for me to go there because my cousin lives there and I have an unused pre-sale code left, my father told me I was sick.

They would tell me that too I guess they just dont understand.

  6. Us poor misunderstood lonely souls us...
  7. My family have always been fans. Obviously they are not all boarderline obsessed like myself, but they have gotten into U2 a lot more as of late. This is mostly because my Mom and I went to see them in Toronto. I have been burning mix CDs for her of the band's songs for months now, and recently my brother started making copies of them too. My Dad, who usually hates the music we listen to doesn't mind when the U2 CDs are on in the car!
  8. yeah, my Dad was into them back since the TUF era, saw them live a lot in the late 80s/early 90s.

hell, he got me into them pretty much. we went to the Sheffield 360 show together, father son bonding and whatnot.
  9. Apart from the fact that my parents are totally not into music (it's a miracle they know, for example, who Elton John is - my Dad doesn't recognize any of the non-greatest hits from the Beatles eg), at least my mum knows that my fave band is called U2 and that Bono "does a lot for people in Africa", thatz why she likes him. But she would not recognize a song nor would she or they attend a concert. My brother doesn't like them and plays jokes on them. But I am sure he likes some of the older songs. His wife and her sister I tried to convert but with no success. Same with some of my friends. At least one of them is willing to attend a concert coz I could persuade her to a trip to Vienna, and she even watched a DVD I gave her to get prepared.
But there are no real U2 fans in my family, SADLY.
  10. i have been listening to U2 since spring and i have managed to get my brother and my dad into them. They would be even willing to go to a show. My older brother hates them even thou he was the one who burned ATYCLB on cd and i borrowed it from him. That was 7yrs ago. Since then i liked them but nobody knew. Now everybody knows im the one who loves U2 and most people are sick of them cuz of me. Actualy two of my best friends have become fans thanks to me. Im really happy i found this site cuz i know im not the only one who is in love with them...
  11. Luckily yes! That's y I've been a fan since I could remember. We had a VHS of Rattle n Hum that I watched hundreds of times as a very young kid. I clearly remember my father walking in with Achtung Bay on CD which was a big deal at that time. It was our first CD lol Still to this day wen I get tickets for a U2 show I buy 2 extra for my father. He was amazed by the Claw lol.
  12. Like everyone else, I'm the only "fanatic" U2 fan in my family, except my mom who loves ISHFWILF and WOWOY but really likes BD. My brother's only 11 and my dad kinda likes them but doesn't know much about their music.

My aunt's husband who's Peruvian is a huge U2 fan, though. In fact I found his CD collection during one of my visits to Peru. If I remember correctly he did have all sorts of albums from Pink Floyd, Queen, Peter Gabriel, and of course U2. I've heard "War", "October", "Rattle and Hum", "The Joshua Tree" and "The Unforgettable Fire" first hand from his collection, to which I am enternally glad.
