1. Bono did say during the interview with Chris Evans on the radio that he has trained his voice more nowadays so it's, in his opinion, better. Entirely subjective, but let's just trust the podgy man for once, shall we?
  2. Well talking about Bono's voice. This is how i categorize it.
    80's = Passionate
    90's = Assertive
    00's to now = Sophisticated

    I like all the decades of Bono's voice. I can argue that Bono's best voice was during The Unforgettable Fire era, maybe Bias due to that being my favorite album. but i love modern Bono's voice. Then again I loved Bono's high pitch voice during Zoo TV. It's hard to chose sometimes.

  3. They really nailed the Popmart performances towards the end, all of them. Shame it took them over six months to achieve that. This one was a concert film, yes, but the actual live performance for the second Mexico City was below average. Amazing what you can do when you want to make it a professional release.

  5. I'm talking about the entire show, but there you go. Example.

    Actually, no, I've changed my mind in terms of Pride. That seems to hold up well transitioning between pay-per-view to DVD.

    Yeah, I think that sophistication came early in the 1990's with his excellent falsetto showcased on songs like The Fly, Lemon and Can't Help Falling In Love, quite something for a passionately singing tenor to pull off - its both ends of the spectrum and is quite impressive.

    I think he's a lost a bit of range in both directions imo though, but only a bit. And the flipside is his voice is probably finer tuned now then it ever has been, more melodic than it's ever been (tho I bet technology probably helps there in concert/studio situations). But he is for sure a great singer, and one of my favourite if not the favourite.
