This exactly. We expect minimal variation from u2 but it seems it gets less with each tour. And as far as the length, maybe bono is getting old and with the amount of energy he puts into a show , 21-22 is all he can do. Who knows. I guess vertigo tour will be the last tour with multiple variations nightly. Whatever the case, I am amped for my two shows in NY.

Not really when you look at the number of different songs they played on the 360 tour and also on a relatively short tour for I&E it was quite impressive. Between the two I&E shows I seen in Glasgow there was 4 rotation slots plus a bonus in 40 on night 2. In Brussels on 360 tour we got 5 changes from night to night and comparing Brussels to the Glasgow 360 show there were quite a few changes. My biggest complaint would be they don't always stick with rarities but in fact they're the songs that get rotated. This tour we were never going to get a lot or rotation due to the commitment to play TJT in full which presents a few setlist challenges. On a different note and on topic I like the sound of that bootleg that's just been posted amazing we're getting it so soon after the show.

Maybe in NA... I saw three Vertigo shows - two with exactly the same setlist and one month later the third with ONE change in setlist from previous ones...
If I compare it with 360 (8 shows and had 44 different songs. Everytime averagely 3 songs not played at all my previous 360 shows).
And two i+e shows with 5 different songs from previous show. So I woulnd't take Vertigo tour as huge setlist variator... Depends on where it was...

Other thing is, U2 were never similar to PJ or Springsteen with setlists, so it's pointles to be bitchin about it. PJ or Bruce never had such a massive production/screens/stage like U2, and with it is impossible to have so many variations.
Of course, everyone would love setlist changes, but we know we won't get it...
This is JT2017 tour, so we get full album and complaining about the rest is irrelevant...
Just don't touch ASOH, it should stay there

...and put Bad in the encore every night.
  5. This would be the real fan desirable set, but we know how that goes. I've a feeling that this is going to be the rotating song from here on in. one or the other... i hope not, but i've a feeling...
  6. It is a useless to discuss about variation in u2 stylists. We all know this here. But my personal opinion is u2 should play about 25 songs every show. Eg Chicago2, ad. bad and follow and 2 others and you have 25 songs. Close the show with 40. All not so complicated.
  7. People we are getting Exit every night
And somtimes a classic from 84. No complaining from me.
  8. Video taken last night:

I agree. The only thing the shorter setlist tells me is they don't have the stamina to go the distance anymore... which leads me to believe if they extend this tour through the rest of the year, we won't see SOE until 2019 as they'll use 2018 to finish (or start) SOE and convalesce from this tour...

The setlist did not feel short in person last night.

In terms of stamina - the band had more than me.

Bono sang his heart out. He was very engaged and poured himself into each song.

Edge though... his tone the last two tours has really been a beautiful chunky and he powered through a lot of the show. Really enjoyed him being so strong.

Adam was funky fun and Larry was the usual steady.

I have zero qualms about the band or their stamina or their performance.

The show itself though is... odd.

    Disjointed... Meh...
  11. Hey, they're doing better than (a younger) Muse.
