1. I think the problem is physically it’s a lot easier now to get tickets in that you can click a few buttons online and I think that’s why the online market was made not just for tickets but for everything, with tickets however it’s actually harder work now than it was in the past again not in terms of physical effort but it can be literally impossible to secure a ticket online whereas if you were queuing in person you knew where you stood. Just ask all the people who aren’t subscribers sitting there at 9am on a Friday morning when tickets go on sale only to be told ‘sorry no tickets are available’ if you were queuing at the box office back in the day, ok admittedly maybe the night before for some of you then at least you knew you were getting your reward in the morning. Sorry if I’m mistaken as I’ve never done the queuing thing before but just going off what my dads told me and from what I’ve gathered on here.
  2. I queued for Slane tickets in Limerick in November 2000. Queued all night, got no tickets. Got a smack in the mouth from some local hero and a dose of cheek from a culchy Garda Síochána for my trouble. There were many lessons learned that night, but the important one was: God bless internet presales!!!

The difference is, there were no online sales back then, so tickets weren't getting sucked up from a different medium while you were waiting in line. Also, sales were more localized, (no global competition for your show) so if you were in queue, you may not get a great seat, but odds are you were getting in. Better than the alternative back then, to phone in and try your luck buying over the phone. That was the closest to internet sales back then.

Aside from that, you had actual human interaction. Made some lifelong friends in those queues...
  4. and 3 times higher price

I know you are not from Glasgow, but I'm sure we'll get you Amsterdam tickets
    - I just have set my heart on seeing them in Glasgow on the E+I

Oh, thank you ... I would be able to get you only tickets for Prague (if they'll ever play here) .
Btw. Glasgow is on my list too

  7. Nah...don't think so. The JT 2cd was average shop price + a beautiful free t-shirt...in fact it was the best deal
  8. I’ll probably pre order the deluxe cd from u2.com as well. Will potentially boost my fanscore or whatever it’s called (struggling not to add a lol to that) but something I would be purchasing anyway. Worst scenario I’ll download it free somewhere until it arrives if people are getting there copy first.

    Pre-order yourself a U2start avatar first
  10. I'm confused.
  11. I’ve tried and can’t seem to get a picture that is the right file size and don’t know how to change the file size. My computer skills aren’t that great you may have gathered.
  12. Going forward the signs are pointing towards u2 doing a fanscore type system that basically means things like purchases of albums or things from the fan club in general could count towards our overall score, so people will go out and make multiple purchases of the same thing to boost there score so they can get further up the queue when pre sales begin. You will also have to supply your mobile number, I assume to receive your pre sale code, which may charge you for each message they send (up to 5 a month). That’s my understanding so far.
