1. The people running around the band look so... silly.

Some things never change. When AB came out everyone was disappointed it wasn't TJT 2, so it seems to be a recurring cycle. I still can't form an opinion from this clip.

    Thank you
  4. This is really gonna be ''U2 does Coldplay does U2'' kinda album, huh?

Such a shame. People here talking about risks. From what we've heard until now there isn't anything risky about this (besides running along with current music, which they can't and will be made clear with sales/reviews etc.) To me it's like they were thinking ''When did we last had big commercial succes..... ATYCLB hmmm, which kind of band is hot right now?.... Coldplay.... Yeah, yeah Edge let's combine those two''

Of course they always were influenced by modern music and trends, but at a certain age you can't follow those trends anymore. Trying that might even be viewed as sad....
  5. None too excited with that - definitely going back to the much more interesting SoI. So far, hearing The Blackout, You're The Best Thing (acoustic also, WTF - awful) and whatever that song now is....

....really, the only one that's got me interested is The Little Things.

Not necessarily. That may be true for a fair number of people - but I expect it to be on par with the last album they put out, if not better. This doesn't sound like anything engaging on SoI - e.g. Troubles, Iris, Raised By Wolves, EBW etc etc.

And there was the same chatter before SOI

The Little Things... the quietest song we've heard yet. The anti, anti rocker...
  8. I get the same feeling from that 30 sec clip. Sounds very poppy...

Little Things is pretty great though

I find that argument of age and current trends to be so ridiculous. You like what you like. Artists like U2 and Madonna are largely in uncharted territory being at the top of their games for so long and wanting to do new things. If it feels organic then go for it. If it felt forced I wouldn’t be excited but this sounds like U2 through and through. All the songs we have heard so far have.
