Lot of album left to hear still too.
My point is that the love songs would still have been love songs prior to needing re-written or delayed due to Trump and god knows what else.

By consciously delaying the album the band have heaped a lot of pressure on themselves. Four songs in and that pressure is only building. I acknowledge that what we haven’t heard could be mind bendingly good but I also fear the songs will get stuck in the mud of mediocrity.

I get where you're coming from, but as one who also considers ATYCLB their low point, I still like what we've heard so far from SOE and remain optimistic.
  3. There's one thing that I personnally feel for sure, is that these video clips make me want the song right NOW, I want to listen to it without having it cut off. So I can definitely be sure that I already like it.

With what we've heard so far of the album... It makes me very, very excited. And I'm of the kind that used to hate every thing U2 did that was too pop-ish. I hate most of HTDAAB, I hate Song for Someone, and yet somehow while it seems that SOE is shaping up to be this kind of popish thing... I love everything I'm hearing. I absolutely don't understand that.

It just feels like all the songs are individually very good and mastercrafted in a way, without anything being overproduced like some stuff on SOI. Every song I've heard so far has immediatly been stuck in my head. Catchy might be the word to describe that album.
  4. I’m surprised the videos haven’t been taken down yet.

Get your head out of the mud, babayyyy...
  6. You can see people filming without hiding it in the videos. My guess is they'll release it kind of soon as they don't seem interested in keeping it a secret.
  7. P.s.- not directed at you germcevoy... just hadnthe lyric in my head when I read mud.

I was really optimistic when I first heard Little Things. Then The Blackout was okay, nothing great, but okay. The Best Thing really is shit for me, such a cheap song. And now this, it's only 1 minute or something but it just doesn't sound fresh or anything, really like Cesar put it. Like they have been trying to play U22000 again or something.

It only helps with building the hype for SOE.
  12. It's quite Coldplay and Killers mixed with a bit of early 2000's u2. Someone mentioned u2 not being a rock n roll band any longer, they've never fit into just a rock n roll band bracket anyway, I'm sure we'll have some rockers on the album as well as pop type songs... some unfair negativity on here though.
