please, honestly i beg of you, don't stay away. Even with three or four rotations that is a terrible set. If those of us who know this band is, or at least should be, better than this stay away then the "anti-critics" have won and after being a fan for 37 years I'm not having that I've invested too much of my time into this band.
  2. Lads just play the hits... do a singles tour, don’t bother being creative and still produce albums after 42 years and feel proud and play 7 of those new songs on your tour plus a few tracks from your previous album... stick to the hits then everyone will be happy. Now we are comparing u2 to Duran Duran, oh lord.

So you don’t consider accusing someone of being blinded by fandom as a criticism of someone. I wouldn’t go as far as say attack but it’s definitely putting down someone’s view.

Ive been a fan since I was 6. I’ve obsessed over every moment in their career. I’ve seen them over 30 times live. Starting with TJT tour, this isn’t the band I know. I know they’ll never vary their set, which is why it’s even MORE important to get the set right!

    No I don’t. Anything else?

I’ve never complained about new material. I expected 6-8 new songs especially in the beginning. And imo , they haven’t even picked the best material from SOE! The set is a miss on all a counts. (Imo )
  7. not all to bad setlist
  8. Yes.

Or you’re just too sensitive. “You’re stupid if you think that set is good. You’re too dumb to realize how bad those songs are. Those are personal attacks. Blinded by fandom? so sorry for being so mean to those who love the set

Haha. Challenging yourself is going out of the box. Stepping out of your comfort zone. Now is a perfect time for them to actually do that. They’re not the same live draw or popular band they once were. Pull out some songs, vary up the set. Their catalogue is fucking massive at this point. Explore it! Showcase it!

Yes, yes and yes. Thank you, I'm glad I'm on the same thought process as you, because nine times out of ten on this forum you hit the nail on the head.

This setlist is disappointing: the closing part is dull, the replicating of the end of the first set is unambitious, they're playing COBL & American Soul, Beautiful Day is still there... there's just barely anything to get excited about. I'm only looking forward to seeing The Ocean, Staring at the Sun, HMTMKMKM and the crumbs of comfort on SOE. That's worrying. The set needs an overhaul, and I hope it changes drastically by the end of the first leg.

Thank you. All I’m trying to say is that is not the best set they could put forth this tour. Not by a long shot. And no matter how big of a fan you are, I find it difficult to believe that you can think that’s the best effort. It’s disappointing
