They did a comprehensive tour in 1989 of Australia and NZ. I know that was a long time ago but maybe something like that should be on tap for 2019. I still think they should bring both stages down under next year.

Maybe All I Want Is You in the encore, Out of Control somewhere in the end/at the top, or Stuck in A Moment where Summer of Love is.
I'm thinking they might play Landlady for Ali in Dublin.
  3. I think a proper world tour might be on the cards next time round but that could be a few years away yet. The thing is when they do go to Australia they do tend to play quite a lot of dates so if in a few years they go there and play 6-8 shows then that balances things out compared to most countries, Australia doesn’t have the biggest population either so that amount of shows over maybe 12 years since 360 is actually pretty good it’s just there all coming at once which makes the most financial sense for u2 and there management. I do sympathise though with people from Australia, New Zealand, Japan etc that are desperate for a u2 show, just make sure you get your fix though next time they arrive.

Fair. That second run of US shows was unnecessary and could well have made some room for a few shows down in Australia and the like.

Yeah, they always get the best setlist and extra legs, but when other part of the world once gets something better, they are whining...
Is this a joke? I can’t say that I feel u2 rushed this tour and because of that, the us and the beginning of Europe got the shaft setlist wise? What a condescending remark you made.

End of 2019 would be nice for some Japan/Aus/NZ shows.

    Unlikely I know.

I’m not going to weigh in on you and Alvin’s debate but just wanted to ask do you not think the band just had a change of heart and it wasn’t rushed it just so happens that they’ve made a decision now that more people are on board with? I don’t dispute the setlists are a lot better now and accept if the shoe was on the other foot I’d be gutted but if you look at I&E for example I’d say the setlists arguably got a little weaker overall as it progressed due to the e stage songs becoming quite repetitive and certain other rarities disappearing although October and Zooropa were welcome. I’m just saying I don’t think rushing it was the reason it’s just a decision making process that probably no amount of time would have changed until they actually started playing the shows again, the band proved with the Apollo show they were well rehearsed enough to mix the Setlist up if they had wanted to earlier in the tour.
  8. I think if they were gonna do Aus/NZ then it would be best if they did it not too long after Berlin - take the usual few weeks between legs and then play the shows; if they waited till end of 2019 they'd be out of practise and I think they'd rush the shows and they wouldn't be very good - it's now or never, it'd be a great excuse to bash out Dirty Day, Daddy's Gonna Pay or Lemon as we approach 30 years of Achtung Baby

I agree, the band clearly had a setlist/narrative in mind when they started the tour. As "most" tours go it evolved over time. I commented before about this. I agree the setlist is better now overall, but there are parts of the N. American leg that I do prefer to the setlist now. I'm probably in the minority on that one though.
  10. How many tours has U2 started in the US? I think Europe deserves some love. Regarding the timing of the setlist changes, who knows. I think they just got comfortable with the songs and production. Maybe the filming was a late decision as well and they decided to switch it up.

Regarding Australia/NZ, I don't think it will be anytime soon. The band have all been talking about their upcoming time off, and there's no talk or rumors about going down that way. Although back in May, Adam acknowledged that they hadn't been down that way in years, so I guess, who knows. Bringing a production like that would be expensive, maybe they just don't think it would be lucrative enough.
  11. This version of Magnificent would've worked really good on this tour as an E stage song:

EBTTRT and one extra E-stage song should've been rotational songs this tour with funky songs
