  1. I see the venue tried to stop the fan line, but lost out to LiveNation and U2...

The band must actually like the fan line otherwise it would change...
  2. yes i feel boring too...wake me up before Milan

so that suggests the band is scared of not having little fanboy/girls who'll be happy regardless of what is played in front of them and livenation are going along with it to keep a band happy.

  4. That awesome feeling when I realize that today there's NO u2 show, so I can play whatever I want at home instead of being forced to listen to a shorter and boring set list.
  5. I think they should do the golden ticket scan thing which determines who gets the front rail spots .
Many of us find it impossible to queue days before a show due to work / family etc etc

You should get better friends; if you know the right people you could avoid the "real life" queuing and upgrade to the "virtual queuing", where you give your name and your friends help organize everything so you have your spot secured.

Tell me about it. I'd rather not have friends like that though in fairness

Won’t work. You’d then have the U2 Mafia (the “VIPs”/usual suspects) bitching about it.

Saw them so many times , many times that are enough to confirm that in the last two tours (JT anniversary 2017 and this one 2018 ) the band and Guy Oseary are thinking more on money than on fans. I feel that in my blood, soul ,heart listening to concerts. And the number of NO SOLD OUT and free SEATS are a real reason to discuss. More: ok that's SOE tour but 8 songs are too many, there is no reasons to play all these songs and one or two from others album with BD, VERTIGO, ELEVATION always on setlist. No Streets. Why don't they play different songs from SOI and SOE? Why Pearl Jam, Cure and Boss and others artists change their setlists every night? I'm afraid, i respect your opinions please respect mine. Thanks a lot.Ciao (forza juventus).

Sorry you feel that way and of course your opinion is respected, as are all.

If I may, I can't help but notice that many of the reasons that you listed sort of remind me of PopMart:

-Tour focused more on money than fans = U2 sold out with a big fucking lemon spaceship!
-No sold out shows = half empty stadiums in American heartland and parts of Europe
-Too many new songs = why are they playing 8-10 songs a night from an album called "Pop"?! They're a rock band!
-Lack of setlist variation: why oh why do we only get to look forward to a shortened version of Wake Up Dead Man, MLK, or some cover to end the show...and what karaoke song Edge will sing? Shake it up already!

Respectfully, if you go on any band's message board, it's almost the exact same situation. People talk about reading the same songs each time because they're actually paying attention to it on a consistent basis (as opposed to actually going to more than 1-3 shows on a tour leg). The few bands that do it are the exception and not the rule. I've even seen some Radiohead or Pearl Jam discussions where fans suggested they were "mailing it in", oddly enough! So no one's immune to that there.

People seem to forget that Elevation wasn't even played at 2/3 of the shows in 2015 either. Yet when I saw it last night, it got one of the biggest reactions during the night. Something tells me they like playing it for a reason there...

In 2016, The Cure performed 87 different songs. 87. I know we shouldn't expect U2 to change it that drastically given the nature of the storyline of the tour, but just some rotation would be good - again nothing drastic - 1-3 songs a night is what people are wanting

1-3 songs was something along the lines of what they did on I&E. But then the discussion really just shifted to "Well, if they can do 1-3 songs a night, then why can't they switch (mainstay song) then with (lesser played song)?" Or it was still the wrong songs being played, etc.

Kind of goes to show people here though that the band can drop all the Joshua Tree songs and play Acrobat, but we'll still find something to nitpick in the end!
  11. Just got back from Omaha.

Nice city, great show. Had a wonderful time, as did just about everyone there.

Slight bummer about dropping RBW. I was at the St Louis show too. Am I bad luck? (No, of course not, because I also got the Wild Horsies in Tulsa.)

That said, if they drop RBW again for Chicago 1, maybe you should blame me.

(And then thank me when they debut The Showman.)
  12. Also, holy crap, is someone complaining about them playing too many songs from the new album? They're touring for that album!!!

PS. From where I was in GA, the stands in Omaha looked packed. (Minus the upper deck behind the stage that was curtained off.)
