1. Japan's goalkeeper is terrible.

This is nothing compared to the joke that the 2026 World Cup will be. 16 groups of 3 teams, 15 teams that will play their first match vs a team that has already played. Loads of third group matches where a draw can get both teams through

That does sound like a complete shambles. Mind you if it gives Scotland more of a chance of qualifying I’ll probably take it but it would make not qualifying all the harder to take.

Only 3 extra teams from Europe will qualify, teams from Asia, Africa and Central America will get extra spots
  5. Japan! How did they miss that???

A complete disgrace. 32 teams is the perfect number with interesting matches throughout the first rounds, at least one Cinderella story and plenty of strong teams.

That sounds like it’s going to reduce the quality of the competition. I can’t see the logic in it and agree with what Cesar just posted as well.
  8. Right. Were England to compete Panama in baseball, the roles would be reversed

Yeah the format and the number of low quality teams will make it very uninteresting.
  10. Japan already deserves the win. Go Japan!
  11. A draw would be a pretty good result for both here wouldn’t it? Obviously a win would be better but a draw would give them both a decent chance of qualification.
