Yep - The audio on the YT upload of the rip is in mono & lower quality when compared to the stream (originating from the Danish Link) which has superior stereo audio etc..

  2. There’s just lacking that bit of epicness too for some reason.

    Also because it’s so dark.
  3. Very few crowd close-ups too this time. Which is very good.
  4. I had the impression that it was filmed as a simple concert broadcast by a local television, lack of creativity in the directing. You are right, it's too dark ! very few close-ups of the crowd but very few close-ups of the bande too !
  5. I used to be someone who would rather bono talked less and they could get on with playing the songs (used to even think they could fit more songs in that way, yeah right) but I think Bono’s spoken bits are great in this show. I do notice the sound quality isn’t great, my tv volume is nearly twice at what it usually is to get it to normal volume but I’m sure it will be better when watching it on sky and the blu ray should be much better as well. Overall though I’m really impressed by it. I like the way it’s been filmed. I’m happy with the performance. Desperate to see the first half of the show now.
  6. The sound on this version is mono, so that would explain why it's lacking something. Looking forward to hearing it in stereo.
  7. So any word at all on an official release or we still just speculating?
And what is the reasoning behind cutting the first half of the show (usually the best part of a U2 concert).

On u2.com they mentioned there will be an announcement early in the year about a release of the full show. Maybe they want to save the best part as an added reason to buy the dvd.

Thats great news, just seemed so weird broadcasting the gig without Blackout and Lights Of Home, felt like alot of the message was missing.

Yeah it’s a completely different opening with blackout and lights of home compared to elevation and vertigo. Far more intensity with the real start to the show but that’s something to look forward to I guess. It’s been good in a way to only see half of the show and think how much I enjoyed that with my favourite part still to come.
  11. FYI: John Fogerty's 50 Year Trip at Red Rocks is released the same way: has been on select theaters, will be broadcast (ie. 3sat early morning of Dec 31) and will be released on DVD end of January (no bluray, obviously - no possibility to pre order in germany yet).

Is that maybe a new way of selling? show a half and then hope people pay for the whole of it?

Which wouldn't explain the air time in Germany. Fogerty is so early (4 or 5 am or so) and U2 will be airing at 0.20 after new year's midnight - when 80% of the Germans are outside doing fireworks (and those staying inside won't be able to HEAR anything of it because of the noise outside).
  12. I'm looking forward to this becoming one of my favorite U2 live video release right behind ZooTV and PopMart. Alraedy love what we've seen thanks to that youtube upload
