1. My partner worked for MOJO back then.
  2. This was around the time of Zoo TV U2 were seriously considering touring with GnR and Pearl Jam on a select series of concerts ,Bono became good friends with Axl and Eddie Vedder and all 3 bands were massive at the time (still are) I know Pearl jam did a a few support slots on the Zooropa tour but as all bands are still active today maybe it's something they might do in the future ,you could throw in Metallica into that aswell as they have expressed an interest to do some shows with U2.

  3. This was all 92/93. Axl sang One in Vienna ZooTV and Metallica and Guns toured together in late 92 in North America. Pearl Jam also went nuclear in 92/93.
  4. My concert stats 92/93.

    U2 3x
    GNR 2x
    Metallica 1x
    Pearl Jam 1x

  5. Both. They didn't play both Hearing about the reasons why they didn't tour in 2002 I don't think that Europe tour ever got to the 'planning phase'.. just a rough draw maybe. Looking at that list that was posted before, to me it looks like it was made up (more or less based on zoo tv and popmart with some new stadiums mixed in)
  6. The Kuip was reserved for 7 days.
  7. Since there is Prague on the 2002 list, it definitely means it was never meant seriously
  8. So they planned a tour and then found out only Bono was interested? They already played 3 shows in a football stadium in 2001 in Holland, not sure if they could do several nights again a year later without new material.
  9. U2 always will fill a stadium in Holland. If They would come next month, full stadium

I remember some quote from McGuinness around this time about them unplaying Europe, this really felt like they were coming back but obviously it didn’t happen. Don’t forget that the news of an illness to one of the band members family came out around June that year so this may have had something to do with it.
  11. the illness didnt come into play till the planning of the Vertigo tour- early 2005
  12. Could u2 going to Australia mean that they won't be signing a new contract with LiveNation? If u2 are going to sign, or have already signed, then maybe LiveNation could have been nice and let this tour slide because they know they've got another guaranteed 10 years of u2. Or u2 haven't/won't sign, and LiveNation wants every penny they're owed before the contract expires?
