Joshua Tree Tour 2019
Legs (1): New Zealand, Australia and Asia
Shows: 15
  1. That is the difference between your statements and my sceptical view regarding this Communication here. A fan website like u2songs (and u2start) and various anonymous sources spreading dates and creating media attention, may be interesting. But everything, that has been hyped here as so called Information, what will (!) happen, so far has only been proven wrong. So these Info are for me not facts, but rumours and opinions - that unfortunately are written as if they were facts. Remember? „it’s imminent, it’s on, it’s leaked. Wait, announcement in April. No, May. No next week. No, after the election. Wait- it will be 2nd June...100%. A go. No, it will definitely not be The Joshua Tree. No, it will be The Joshua Tree, of course...“ Ticketmaster for now Displays nothing. Has deleted everything, wherever and whatever it was originally. And another strange point of view: There is no postponement. Because a postponement would need an official announcement of dates and locations before. But that, apart what some here try to create here, has not happenened yet. U2.com, which for me is the only reference site giving information, emails, links, is the official source. And they still haven‘t announced ... right, nothing. But, for everybody looking forward to the TJT 2019, they should do it. Soon.

thank you for having read my post and understanding my view...
  4. Well, you asked what the inside joke was. So I said what the inside joke was (or what it basically comes down to). Nothing more, nothing less.

The whole point of being a U2 fan website is that we don't have to be an official U2 website (to be sure: U2Start is a fan-website!).
We are free to discuss rumors, leaks, hotel reservations, ticket pricing, etc., etc., without having to conform to U2 Management and their strategy.

Yes, you are right, this whole rumored tour still has to materialize and become real with actual announced dates and stuff. But do you seriously think that a U2 Tour would literally fall out of the sky? No. Venues have to be booked, logistics have to be arranged and planned, press releases have to be prepared. And in all these operations hundreds of people are involved. And there are always people who know people that would like to hear about these things. And I even think that the U2 PR-machine is interested in creating a bit of a buzz. Some anticipation, you know.
"Buzz is good for Biz," as they say.

    That's just how it works.

Good to be skeptical (and I can only encourage that!), but remember where you heard it first

I'm very skeptical about the 2nd part of that last sentence . What do you exactly mean by that?
  7. What I don't get is the apparant apathy and/or semi outrage that U2 fan sites are reporting about this tour? Why? Even weirder is that it seems to be coming primarily from people that this tour wont even effect. I can totally see Australian fans and/or fans in Asia trying to be skeptical because they do not want to get their hopes up to have them dashed. But the rest of you, why? Who cares, unless you booked a flight, hotel, etc....already. Honestly, thats fine, but that would be on you, not this website or any other.
I wont be seeing this tour, but I like to read the rumors/etc. and will enjoy seeing the photos and hopefully recordings. So I'm looking forward to that. But to get worked up about it in a negative way is just odd to me.

The same misplaced love/hate that is placed upon hometown sports teams.

It’s like people can’t accept that we have a choice to read these rumours if we want, like they’re trying to get the whole thing shut down for some reason because they don’t like it. People aren’t just happy avoiding what they don’t want to read but want others to be forced not to be able to read it either. Crazy.

that's a bit of a weird conclusion I think. Nobody clicks on the rumours thread if they don't want to read rumours.
  11. Skeptical about what? Having doubts on where you heard it first? I guess that depends on what you've heard. Or what you remember...

why should we even remember? I can't remember from any single rumour in the past where I heard it first exactly.. it is not important, only thing that important is what really happens. For sure I remember all the concerts..
