1. Once again, it's raining a lot here. The rain in the past 3 days was equivalent to the rain of the entire month of january in 2010. 250 people are dead in Rio de Janeiro because of it, so I send my prayers to the people affected by the rain here and in Australia.

  2. I hope you don't mean that. Part of our economic recovery will be strong domestic visitation. Every interstate visitor spending money here would help us.

That's true. People will probably start having holidays there when the flood goes away, but not me. Sorry.

    But I will donate money.

I might go during the "winter", but not anytime soon and never during the summer. I don't know if something crazy won't happen in Newcastle because there might another earthquake here, but it's extremely unlikely for that to happen while I'm alive. But, I would rather be in an earthquake than in a flood that's bigger than France and Germany combined.

    That's the Australian spirit.

  7. that's insane I saw on the news last night how the houses were just taken away by the floods... how people tried to safe cows from the water.... horses clinging with their heads to rooftops that just peeked out of water, fighting for survival.... and I heard a woman tell the reporter how her dad called from his farm that was just being washed away that very moment, telling them to not come back to the farm and stay where they were... that was the last they heard of him ever since, and then the woman broke into tears, and damn I did, too, in front of tv many thousand miles away. This is awful. And I saw the stadium U2 have played what seems like yesterday, the GA field under water
  8. downtown Frankfurt (U2 played here on August 10 this summer) this morning:
