You realise you can still be Catholic and yet not agree with everything the Church teaches (within reason of course - you can't be a Catholic abortionist).
In fact there are surprisingly quite a lot of diverse views within the Catholic church - in many cases it can be a lot more progressive than the mainstream Protestant churches as they are bound to follow whatever is in the Bible.
There was this interesting article in our paper here on the results of a survey of a third of the Catholic priests in Australia:
