1. I stuck on Wanted last night. Fantastic stuff. Gotta love a film that embraces its own utter ridiculousness like that. And, let's be honest, Angelina Jolie is INSANELY hot in this movie
  2. The Kite Runner (finally)
  3. Vaguely paid attention to a film called "Honey" starring Jessica Alba, which was on the TV this afternoon. The bits I paid attention to seemed little short of pornographic. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but at half three when the kids are watching? Betcha LOADS of dads joined their sprogs to watch that one...
  4. watched kill bill 1& 2 (yep, I'm totally behind on those two).

don't know whether I liked the ending, guess I have to watch it a couple more times to judge
  5. the visitor
  6. The Forbidden Kingdom, yesterday

    Mummy 3 today

Both utterly forgettable and borderline unwatchable (certainly again). What's happened to Jet Li.........?
  7. 4 christmases

    Cyote Ugly
  8. Watched 'Wit Licht' (White Light in english). It's a dutch movie with Marco Borsato starring. He's a dutch singer AND some U2-people went to his latest concerts (the Wit Licht tour, promoting the album Wit Licht) to see the special effects.

The movie itself wass really touching. It was about child-soldiers in Africa. Marco Borsato is a friend of WarChild, an organisation that brings previous child-soldiers back into the society and learns them too play again, instead of killing...

  9. Quantum of Solace. I'm a great fan of the James Bond movies and I really liked this one
  10. Erm, films I watched recently...Iron Man (loved that, brilliant stuff), Talladega Nights (2nd time, it's definitely a Marmite movie, and I'm no fan of yeast extract...), The Incredible Hulk (the Edward Norton version - was ok, but I mean after a point I lost interest because it just too ridiculous) and The Mist, which I was really impressed with. Ok, the special effects at times weren't any great shakes but it was a really powerful film and I'd definitely watch it again.

Hmm, I'll still watch the former 'cause the DVD is sitting on my desk waiting to be viewed, but I totally agree about the Mummy 3 - I was more disappointed in that I loved the concept BUT they completely buggered it up; far too much in the way of a tradeoff for humour over a serious stab at a decent film. The first one still stands up as the best, the 2nd one they definitely started looking a bit more at laughs but found a worthy compromise, but the 3rd? How to tear a decent idea to shreds...
  11. Rattle and Hum
  12. Ichi The Killer (again). It still staggers me, no matter how many times I watch it. How on EARTH did this get made? I mean that in a good way, but Miike Takashi is clearly fucking nuts. And I mean THAT in a good way, too. There's extreme cinema and then there's Miike's output...
