Before that, had to watch Devil Wears Prada as part of my module on Gender & Genre in Contemporary Cinema, part of my exam prep. - not ashamed to say I did actually enjoy it lol.

And it's a film with a lot of interesting gender issues going on.

  2. Certainly is. Been reading up on the history of feminist critiques of cinema in general to flesh out my understanding of the area because it's not my strongest field of knowledge, amazing how much there is to think about. Granted, it's reading I really should have done before I started the module lol, but better late than never.

LOL. It's Pandora's Box. Once you start looking, you start seeing it everywhere. Meryl Streep's oevre on its own is enough to keep you busy the rest of semester.

Lol, unfortunately I've only got a month to acquaint myself well enough with the whole lot, I broke up for the end of the semester last Friday, got my exam on 10th May (beginning of the exam period) before my last exam on 2nd June on Multiculturalism, fairly distinct and different areas of study lol. I really planned my final year out well
  5. I went to the cinema yesterday and watched Rio. Makes you wanna go to the carnival
  6. Bruno
    The Next Three Days
    The International

  7. Across the Universe

I really liked it, and the fact that Bono is in it is not too bad for it either. I really kinda noticed how special his voice is when I had heard so many other singers, Bono's voice

Would give it 3,5/5, some parts were too LSD.
  8. Boondock Saints.

  9. Hmmm....yes and no. Loved Borat, laughed pretty much non-stop, but I guess I had wrongly assumed that Bruno was more about SBC's attacking of the fashion industry, and instead it just turned into a weird 90-minute gay joke. Probably laughed the hardest during his "exclusive" interview with Harrison Ford. What did you think?
  10. Brothers.

    Wow.
