1. Yes, it's pretty good. Very bleak though. Great performances from Peter Mullan & Olivia Colman (A far cry from her goofy role in "Hot Fuzz").
  2. Avengers Assemble. Awesome
  3. Watching 'Young Frankenstein' now, such a funny film.
  4. Went and saw Act of Valor last night, very good film.
  5. AVENGERRRRRRRRRRS
  6. Avengers was fantastic.
  7. I've only heard good (if not great) things about The Avengers.

I often take a pass on these comic book (sorry, graphic art novel?) flicks but the buzz around this one makes will make it impossible for me to stay away.
  8. Last movie I saw was the midnight premiere of Avengers.

I didn't plan on going until the day before and it was a spur of the moment sort of thing. I'm very glad I made that decision.

I do recommend watching all the other movies surrounding the heroes before going to watch the Avengers. Those would be Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America.

While not absolutely necessary to understand the movie, watching them first will give you a deeper sense of appreciation for the universe they created. One of the main criticisms of the movie is that it doesn't portray enough back story on the members of the team. That's not really a valid criticism because each of the recruited heroes has an entire film dedicated to their back story (two in the case of Iron Man).

Long story short, GO WATCH IT!
  9. Is "The Avengers" better than "The Dark Knight"?

  10. God, no. It's great fun and I'll be off to see it again this week, but the films are incomparable. Yes, they both have graphic novel sources, but that's about all they have in common. Now, as for The Dark Knight rises...
  11. Apparently Avengers 2 is already in the works.

Haven't seen Avengers Assemble yet, not usually my kind of thing as RUMMY said. But, I've only heard good things about it so I guess it can't hurt to go and see what it's all about.
