Sorry, Dan. I think I'll have to drop out of this one. I've had a really busy week and haven't had time to download this show, let alone listen to it.

    -----------------------------------

    The Recording:

    >> Pros:
    * The music is recorded pretty well, you can hear all the instruments quite well, specially you get a good listen of Larry's work
which makes it amazing (It's always great when you get more of the drums in a bootleg, makes it sound great!).
    * You get pretty good audience reactions without it becoming extra noise!

    >> Cons:
    * The vocals, it seemed to me that at some points where the music gets a bit louder, specially in the first
few songs (and maybe NYD), you can't get what Bono is singing (which isn't normal for the "bit" of loudness I'm talking about). But it's not that
much and you forget about it after a couple of songs.
    * It also has this problem again, the sound just keeps jumping from Left to Right and then to Left again, which can
get pretty annoying at a lot of parts. You are totally enjoying the music and suddenly the sound starts jumping around!

    The Show:
What can you say? It's ZooTV Y'all! It doesn't get bad. The boys are great, Bono sounds wonderful, it's all great!
I haven't heard many ZooTV bootlegs, but this one surely got to me. I enjoyed every bit of it.
Let's get some detail here >>

    >>Pros:
    * Great setlist! Of course, it's not the dream setlist (doesn't include stuff like I Will Follow) but if you look
at it in a realistic way, it's one of the best! You get 9 out of the 12 achtung songs, you get the good oldies
(REALLY GREAT stuff from JT and R&H, you don't see them together all the time! + NYD, Pride, and an awesome Bad!),
and you get 3 great covers (Unchained Melody,Satellite of Love and Can't Help Falling In Love).
    * A great performance of One, makes you go all dreamy!
    * Larry singing Dirty Old Town which is always a joy!
    * We have TTTYAATW (loooong song names :S!) in the setlist, it's a nice live song.
    * A Good Bad!
    * A weird version of Desire, which in spite of the sound jumping from speaker to speaker (again!), it's still interesting!
    * The closing of the show, (and by that I mean the last four songs) is just amazing. I'm gonna have to say that ZooTV had the best endings for shows,
UV, WOWY, LIB and the Can't Help..., all great, rather calm songs which are great to end the show ... You also get a bit of Elvis in the end, which is cool!

    >> Cons:
Not many, as I said it's a good performance. Just a few things...
    * In Bad, Bono starts singing right when Edge's guitar starts, I don't know if it's a mistake (as it's not usually done that way) or not but I don't like it.
But this is too much detail, the rest of it is great.
    * NYD could have been better, I don't know what wrong with it, but there is something!
    * The electronica like start for WOWY...not good!

    Overall:
I totally loved the show, the show is great almost flawless, the recording could have been better, but it isn't that bad, it gets you enough of what you need.
This could give you an 'overall' idea: I'm not taking it off my iPod for now (I did take Gelsenkirchen off right away ).

  10. August 23, 1992 - Foxboro

Here's my thoughts....Hope you enjoy! Feel free to answer any of my questions if you know the answers!!

    GOOD:
EBTTRT- Adam’s bass was ON FIRE. He rocks that thing from the very beginning. This song was perfection, up until the last note of the song (4:59). Sounds like Edge missed it by a fret or two, which is a shame. If not for that, could be the best performance I’ve ever heard of this one. I wish they’d bring this song back.

I really enjoyed the acoustic-style version of “I Still Haven’t Found…” I’m fairly inexperienced when it comes to early ZooTV shows, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Bono’s improvised lyrics at the beginning of “Pride.” I’d love to see video footage of this. I’m assuming some fan jumped up on the stage?

“Love is Blindness” continues to be one of the most underrated and haunting live songs ever performed. I’m speechless.

    BAD:
I found it annoying that the audio shifts from right channel to left channel with no apparent rhyme or reason. The overall quality of this bootleg was shifty at best. Sometimes it sounded great, other times it seemed muddled or distorted.

“Trying To Throw…” - Pretty brutal. Anyone know what guitar Edge is playing here?

    UGLY:
Bono’s channeling of Elvis Presley during “When Love Comes To Town.” Instrumentally, it’s great….Bono’s vocals were horrible.

    GENERAL NOTES
Zoo Station: 2:52-3:02 – I heard some clean guitar scales I’ve never noticed on this song before. Was that Edge?!

It’s weird to hear One without any sort of lead in by Bono (i.e. talking about the One campaign). I found it really abrupt that they went from him saying “Sure is hot up here…” into such a beautiful, touching song. Might this have been served better a little later in the set?

Who’s Mick Cunningham? This guy? http://www.wwu.edu/soc/Mick_biog.htm

Am I the only one that heard a little bit of “Holy Joe” during UTEOTW? (4:43)

I’m embarrassed to say that this is my first exposure to “Dirty Old Town.” I remember reading about it in U2 by U2…what was the reasoning for putting this in the setlist? Did Bono just need a minute to catch his breath? Was there a costume change here?

Was that Edge singing the last verse of “When Love Comes To Town?”
  11. Nice review! I don't know your show specific questions (cause I listened to the boot early last week and I can't remember the details now). But the one about Dirty Old Town, here is Larry in U2 by U2:

It was awful. Bono had to do a costume change. The question arose, 'What are we going to do?' I said, 'I don't know. Why are you looking at me?' Bono said,
    - 'Well, somebody's got to do something. How about you getting out and doing an Irish traditional song?',
    -'I can do that'
    - 'Oh go on, give it a try.'
    - 'There is no way!'
Bono said, 'Look, I'm stuck, there's nothing else to fill it. This'll help me out.' I did it for him because he already had his arse so far out the window that I felt it was only fair to do something to help him out. It was excruciating. It is part of that tour that I don't particularly like to be reminded of.

Go see some videos of it on Youtube if you haven't, Larry's cool
  12. yes Haytrain that was the Edge singing the last verse of When Love Comes To Town.
