1. Have you ever had U2 burnout? Just wondering.

    elaborate further if you would
  3. yes yes yes, several times. for me it's cyclical. but because i love u2 so much i ultimately wind up coming back to them.

what he means is getting so caught up in U2 for a while that you just get tired of it and need a break. now with hi-speed internet and U2start giving you access to other u2 fans 24/7 burnout is easier than ever.

it's happened to me before. i just loosen up for a while, reduce the frequency of playing u2 and discussing u2 on boards and a listen to other music.

usually when they come out on tour again and with a new album i get all excited again.

but it's totally natural. it would seem unnatural if it never happened to you in fact.

Not really. I've been listening to a lot of my other favorite artists like INXS, The Beatles, etc. to prevent that.
  5. I'be been on U2 97% of the last 5 years and theres no burnout yet. I play the occasional song out or bootleg but as long as theres bootlegs and dvd's out there to download then i'll never suffer a burnout
  6. Yeah I had it too, several times but lately it seems to be a long break.

It started a few months after the release of U218, there wasn't any news, no new releases, I listened to the bootlegs over and over again and suddenly I became a little tired of U2. I started listening to other artists, started to discover other musical genres, explore all new things about music. Sure, I still listened to U2 every once in a while, was still a huge fan, could watch a DVD once in a while, but it wasn't like before. I lost a certain interest.

And every time when I put on another bootleg or album of U2 after a long period of not a single listen to U2 I instantly fell in love with U2 again. I always realize on moments like that, that there is no other band than U2, there is no other music than U2. I will always love it, no matter how long I haven't heard it, it's still U2.

I'm still much into other music lately, but when I get the chance to attend U2 related events or get a new bootleg, or visit this place with all those kind of wonderfull fans and friends, I will always take it. U2 is my biggest musical love and always will be.

And I'm certain, as described above, that when a new album and tour period begins, when the rumors are floating around, I will be into U2 seven days a week again

That's what I hope will happen with me. I listen to so much music everyday, so I listen to about 80%
of U2 and about 19% INXS/Beatles and about 1% of anybody else.
  8. Nowdays I'm 97% U2, but sometimes I take a break with other artists. Right now I emptied my 1GB mp4 from U2 and put Pink Floyd instead, then I'll be back to U2. For me U2 is like home, you go on vacations listening to other artits, but eventually you'll come home .
