1. I meant the Edge in both cases.
  2. Can you post a picture of his blue SG? I think you did before, but I cant find it.

Edge's Pelham Blue Gibson SG is the backup to the more familiar cherry finish 1966 SG (used for "Elevation"). I first read about his having this guitar in the 2005 Guitar World feature article. And later I found a few pics of Dallas soundchecking the guitar. I've heard no reports of Edge playing it at a show, as of yet.

    A bit about Pelham Blue...

Like many other finishes, Pelham Blue changes colour over time due to the undercoat. Edge's in the piccy posted looks a bit more 'green' than Dave Grohl's Pelham Blue Trini Lopez. (more on that in a minute)

Here is a "antiqued" Pelham Blue finish 1968 Gibson Les Paul guitar - This one looks far greener than The Edge's SG:

Why green... the undercoat yellows. Yellowing with Blue Finish = Green

Seems Pelham Blue is becoming a bit more popular, thanks to Dave Grohl. Dave was playing cherry finished Trini Lopez models and in one interview begged for anyone with a Pelham blue Trini Lopez to sell it to him. Subsequently, Gibson has made him some Pelham Blue Trini Lopez models and he's also been playing a Pelham Blue Gibson Firebird.

Pic and link to the Grohl loved Gibson Trini Lopez in Pelham Blue. And for a mere 2900.00 - You TOO can own one!

The Elliot Easton (The Cars) signature model SG is also in Pelham Blue.

  5. Quite the salesman aren't you Jeff? "You TOO can own one!"

    Honestly...

As if we all have $2900 hanging around lol...

Speaking of which, I got my Epiphone LP Custom with a white finish a couple days early, love it! Such a nice change to go from singles to humbuckers, although I'm keeping my Ridgewood anyway. I may just post pics when I get around to it, even though I'm thinking everyone knows what it'll look like anyway lol...

I may have a couple of questions for you chap in a while if you're ok for seeking answers?
  6. Funny Rick Nielsen has been mentioned here. Cheap Trick is playing in my town next month. (we have an indian casino). I'm considering going just to see the five neck guitar. Also for anyone who cares, the guy who played drums in Rush before Neal Peart, John Rutesy died.

Well, I don't know much about Rush but it's always sad to hear of the death of another artist
  8. Heart attack in his sleep due to complications from diabetes, which is why he quit the band in the first place.

It was John Rutsey's brother that came up with the name, Rush.

Great band. Sad that he passed. It is a great show of the ravages that can occur from diabetes - type one or type two. He was way too young.
