  1. Which of Page's guitars is it anyway? The Danelectro, The Tele, The 58 LP, The 59 LP (which he got off Joe Walsh if your keeping tabs), The Strat, or some guitar we have never heard of?

    Completly random, but does anyone know what kind of bass amps sting uses?

    It is a Gibson Custom Shop reissue. (Auctioned on Sat and bought by Dallas)

    I don't think that Pagey would let go of one of the two main Zeppelin era LPs. Both have been appraised at well over $500,000 (probably closer to a million)

    He's some nice Tele's. He's a white (faded to cream) 1966 w/B-Bender plus another (1958) that was painted Botwana (shit!) Brown by a friend (without Page's consent!!). It too has a Parsons/White B-Bender.

    I don't think that Page ever owned a 1980's "The Strat" but he did own some 1960's Stratocasters.

    Stratocaster-wise... Jimmy has the Lake Placid Blue 1962 that he used for "The Crunge" (Houses of the Holy), "For You Life" (Presence), "In The Evening" (In Through The Out Door) as well as a lot of the material during his association with Paul Rogers in The Firm, in the mid-1980's.

    He's another one that was recently returned. He had a white one... 1960's (probably a 1962/1963) that he used for "Ten Years Gone". He later gave it to Led Zeppelin (bassist/keyboradist) John Paul Jones. JPJ recently returned it to Page at the rehearsal for the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun show at the O2 in London.

  3. When I said The Strat, I meant the 62. Also, Iread somewhere that the 58 LP is his number one, while the 59 is his number 2. It dont really matter much as far as I'm concernerned. Now I just wonder which one of us is right. Also, If your keeping tabs, he used one of his LPs in place of the Daneletro at the reunion concert for Kashmir. Wonder why? My guess is too save time.

    Just saying as Fender made a sort of 'super strat' to compete with the 1980's shred market called "The Strat". The body, components and tone are anything BUT "Strat-like"

    Kashmir from the O2 shows was an LP. From the jumpy video I've seen it looks to be the resprayed Cherry LP with the B-Bender. But I need to see a better piccy.

    Yep, it appears to be the Cherry Les Paul.

    I don't think that the guitar change was to save time. Kashmir is in D-A-D-G-A-D tuning. So it isn't like he can just play it on a standard tuned guitar; better to have one setup for intonation and tuned to D-A-D-G-A-D.
  5. Wonder did he use it on "In My Time Of Dying" as well? The black Les Paul seen in pictures from the early days was given to Jimmy as a gift from Keith Richards. It was stolen in 1970.

    It was stolen in Canada. I'm not sure it was a gift from Keith Richards. Jimmy did have it since his studio days. I remember reading that he traded his Gretsch for the Les Paul.

    I think that Jimmy used the Gibson Goldtop with the Transperformance computerized tuning thing in it for "In My Time Of Dying" I think it's in open A-tuning but I'd have to double check that.

    Yes, "C'mon Ev'rybody is the same that U2 covered for a handful of shows from Amnesty tour through The Joshua Tree tour.

    ...at the 1986 Self Aid show, The Edge played his tobacco finish Yamaha AE2000. (also seen on the cover of the March 1987 Rolling Stone cover story AND in Rattle And Hum during "When Love Comes To Town)


    In Paris July 1987...

    ...The Edge played his all black Stratocaster.

    2. I heard somewhere he has a White Falcon. What year is it, and what is it used on?

    What year is Jimmy Page's Country Gent? Don't know that he has one. He has a Gretsch or two but I'd have to look that up, don't remember of the top of my head. Not sure if he has a White Falcon.

    The Edge? The Country Gent used for COBL is his 1963. He's had a few others, one was a 1964 or 1965 (I've heard it referred to by both vintages) and a 1967. I appears that those two might have been flood victims, hence the 1963 being the main Gent now.

    Edge has a White Falcon. You can see it in the Pride video. To the best of my knowledge, he's not taken it on tour. In the studio, it's been said that it was used on a few tunes for The Unforgettable Fire. Plus you can see him play Desire and Van Diemen's Land with it in Rattle And Hum. Although Dallas has said that the released studio version of Desire is a Les Paul. What vintage is the White Falcon? As it is a double cutaway and stereo model (which he had rewired to Mono), that puts it in the 1962-1964 range. I've heard that it is a 1962.
