WHAT??? Listen, 80% of the *nowadays* fans haven't even heard Wire. You can't drop Pride and replace it with a (great, but) unknown song.
Pride was one of the highlights on the only show I attended. The whole ground was shaking (earthquake, scientifics say) under 60.000 feet. Too great.

they've been kissing asses of casual fans, they should make show for those who doesn't come to U2 concert to hear that song they've heard on radio

That's what my father said the other day. He said that, if casual fans wouldn't appear, the concerts would be much better. God, Im sure that 50% of the 60.000 tickets sold every night were for casual fans. Shit :R

It's not just that easy. No matter how many times you heard Pride or Bullet The Blue Sky, seeing it live is a totally different experience. Hearing Edge's guitars, Bono's voice, Adam's thumping bass and Larry's drums in front of you can change completely what you think about a certain song.

true there. If I could choose the setlist before the first show I attend, Pride and Bullet, Mysterious Ways etc wouldn't be on it but when they do play those songs at the show (and they will) I shall be absolutely ecstatic. I want to hear Croke Park sing 'In The Name Of Love'

That's what they do when they put songs like Electric Co., An Cat Dubh, Until The End of the World, Zoo Station in the playlist (and that's just what came to my head from the Vertigo Tour).

Trust me, I went with my best mate (an avid fan but no-way near my level) and our wives. I loved every song and knew them word-for-word. My mate knew everything except Electric Co. but loved it; our wives loved Vertigo, Beautiful Day, Streets, Pride etc but were bored and virtually switched off when the songs I've mentioned were on (they asked if Zoo Station was an ill-advised cover ).

So, you can't have a U2 show (especially when it's one night in a venue - maybe if it's 3-5 nights) and not play Pride, Streets, One, Beautiful Day and Vertigo. It would be like the Stones not playing Brown Sugar or Jumpin' Jack Flash. They just wouldn't pull in half the crowd (as Sergio said). And I agree with Gerard that if it's the first show you ever go too, even if you're a die-hard (and there's plenty on here not been to a show), you'll go beserk when these songs come on. I never listen to Pride at home but I go crazy and sing every note when I see them live.

    Just my opinion of course..

i think U2 will do what Bob Dylan, the Stones, and Fleetwood Mac have done and that new material + never played before things.
  8. I am hard core and never been to any show, and that's maybe a reason for my opinion on U2 concerts, when you hear Pride on every bootleg, it makes you want to kick the song out of their setlist

    Concert Rumours (Unfounded)

Just a note to correct reports that tickets are becoming available for planned U2 shows next year.

There are no plans for live dates next year - so please don't buy tickets for any U2 shows you see advertised.

You can be sure any future live announcements will be made on U2.Com as soon as they are confirmed.

I think there will be some live dates...they just not annonced it yet. Let's hope they won't celebrate the 16th anniversary of 1991 when they haven't had a concert at all.
  12. Does anyone know why U2 hasn't played TUF since 1990??? Or am I wrong on this??

After watching and hearing the JT DVD, I hope U2 will put some JT and TUF songs in the setlist for the next tour, like TUF, Bad(should always be in it) but also Exit and In God's Country. And I'd love Love is Blindess
