Theres a number of other easons too. In all fairness, the job I'd be most intrested in(Master-At-Arms), actually doesen't take to sea that often, but from what I've heard, they change there shore based postings more than other positions do.

It doesn't matter the reason(s). What matters is the interest-even just plain old curiosity.
    What exactly is a Master-At-Arms?

  3. Its the Navy's equivelent of being a cop, and is actually regarded as one of the navys more diverse career fields, as they do everything from brig duty on ships, to K-9 handling, and patrol duty on land, and even provide forward securiety in war zones, among many other things.
  4. Dunno if you guys follow things happening in the EU at the moment. The Czech President is likely to sign the Treaty of Lisbon soon. I don't like the way the EU is heading, not at all

Basically, the EU bosses want to create the United States of Europe and are most likely to succeed. I'll write more later.

Yes and most people dont want to. The countries are too far apart to merge into a federation. And its pretty clear that is the goal for the long term. I mean we dont even have a language in common. Nothing wrong with cooperation, but it shouldnt be force on us like this.

In Holland we refused the treaty, then the treaty was renamed and pushed through without a second referendum

Yep, they just changed the name of the first Treaty which was refused in Holland and France and now they forced the Irish to accept it. Pathetic. ''We completely respect your decision, but look, you'll have another ballot.''
  10. I'm afraid I have to go with the european leaders; one europe is a good thing.
It's simply what we need to keep up with America, South-america and, mainly, Asia (Japan).
Especially in these economically hard times.

On the other side; the way they're trying to push it through is horrible and pathetic.
Sure, I agree it would be a good thing in the future, but dont force people to vote "Yes" when they want "No". That's simply a factor of dictatorism.

I like one Europe in the future, but ONLY when at least 51% of the european people agrees. If not; too bad.
  11. Yes, integration in the EU is needed, but not like this. The President of the European Union? wtf. The voting system is going to be rather bad, too. At a time, 2/3 of the countries can vote and the right to vote circulates with time? wtf. What the leaders want to do is to create a superpower like the USA. They somehow do not get that there are way too many differences to create a federation like that. Languages, cultures etc.

The only reason the U.S. works, is becuase when we started we where small. As we grew in size, the new parts gained the culture of the old ones.
