1. I approve it. IF the minorities in north italy, north spain, bosnia, croatia and regions of Georgia are allowed independency as well ?

So in fact i do not approve it. But we all know we dont measure in justice, but in money
  2. The thing is, only nations have the right for self-definition and own territory. The people who live in Kosovo are not Kosovans, but Albanians, so they were just a national minority in Serbia. They didn't have the right to set up a country of their own as their nationality already has one. Laws were broken when Kosovo came to existence. It's different with let's say the Catalonians - they're not Spanish, they're a national minority in the country and therefore have the right to call for independence.
  3. I agree, that is the problem in the region. The Albanians are escaping their country and take over others Imho.

Unfortunately the same scenario can occur in Holland in a few decades. Interesting to see which side the world takes then

That argumentation is quite weird. Just because the settlement area of the Albanians was divided in 1912 and 1945, the Kosovans have no right of independance from Serbia?

Agree with you. Its not that they dont have the right, but there are many many more majorities and no body is backing them.

Also all nationalities are mixed in the region for centuries. Its hard to discuss about borders, so i wont

What does Croatia have to to with this? I mean, Yugoslavia was federation, made up of 6 nations, Croatia was one of them, along with Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Macedonia.

There was no question that Croatia has the right for independence.

  7. Im not saying that ! Im saying there are still minorities in croatia as well. So are there in all other parts of the ex federation. And in all other countries. (But not all minorities want independence. For example Friesland in Holland has no intention what so ever to break with the rest of the country. They dont speak the same language and have a whole different history.)

    No offence intended

Yep, difficult subject. One could also argue, that Kosovo-Albanians aren't identical with Albanians.

No problem, I wasn't offended. There are minorities, but there are minorities in every country in the world, only few percents of population belongs to them in Croatia.

Maybe you thought of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There are huge problems because there are three nations there - Serbians, Croatians and Muslims. And each of them is not happy with other two. Damn politics.

I think of them as merely Albanians and therefore don't approve of Kosovo. Albanians already have a country of their own, so if the people of Kosovo want to live in a country that belongs to their nationality, they should move to Albania. A huge number of people who study in the Czech Republic are Slovaks, and lots of them will stay there permanently. Now, with a huge Slovak population in the Cezch Republic, should those people call for a new country? No. There are so many national minorities in the world that if each of them wanted to gain independence, there'd be thousands of countries.

I actually thought of the Krajna (passed through there once or twice) region. But it was just an example. (I don't have relatives in croatia or serbia though)

Slavics already have a country on their own. So whipe all the other states from the map and make them part of Russia.
