Money is only fun when you can spend it without people bitching

  2. True that.

Btw, might help to look up why some EU leaders didn't participate at the funeral before speaking out about your inferiority complex
  4. Think he only used the funeral to show how far away Europa is from unity. I think it would show of common decency if the leader of a fellow EU country passes away to attend the funeral. He was a chosen leader, now it showed more disrespect towards the people of poland than the deceased himself.

But as i said, dont know a thing about him. Just the Georgia pilot issue. And as i said i hold him partially responsible for the death of dozens of people.

There is a little problem coming from Iceland, though. And taking the train or car from the US (from where Merkel was trying to get home by the time of the funeral for example- wish they kept her there, btw.) wasn't really an option, I guess.

He was a homophobe asshole and catholic hardliner who was trying to get even more power. Not really the kind of politician I'll miss.
  6. I said that some of them could've taken the train. I dont know where everyone was at that moment. But I'm sure not everyone was at the other end of the world. If they were free feel to correct me Also I'm sure Germany has more than enough representatives to sent to the funeral.

And you may be right about him as well. I told you i dont know what kind of person he was

    EDIT:

If he was homophobe and a religious fanatic then i wont miss him either. But the fact is that he was chosen, ignoring that will only work counter productive and then those people will only gain more power
  7. +1 to Yeah. The car/train was funny too

Yep, the President and the foreign minister attended it.
I for one have no idea where the other heads of state were, neither. But I think they had their reasons if they didn't attend. And I'm sure those reasons have nothing to do with:

Do you actually think I don't know that there's volcanic ash in the air all over Europe and the air traffic is frozen? Surely some leaders were on 'business trips' around that time, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of others who were able to come but didn't bother to.

And try to play nice, please. Unless, of course, you have a degree in Psychology and are capable of diagnosing my mental disorders via the Internet. In that case, I'd be grateful to be given a complete psychoanalysis of my personality.

    That.

Ok, so who was able to come but didn't bother?
  12. Balkenende could've gone if he wanted to, he said slower transport didnt fit in his schedule. But I'm sure he could've rearranged his priorities. Plus we have a complete Royal family we pay to do these things

But this topic is going nowhere. I agree with you, but Yuri just used it as an example. We can name 1000 other examples where EU unity fails. Berlusconi who keeps everyone waiting while he is on the phone, Greece lying about their finances multiple times in the last decades, etc. The Brussel - Strassbourg situation (nobody should care where the politicians fart).

And to name Holland and Belgium with their stupid conflicts including De Schelde from Dutch side and the high speed rail on the Belgium side. Although both those issues are settled if i am not mistaken
