1. No chance for that. Did you know that they bought so much metal ore for their industry that they will not need to buy another kilogram in another 50 years?

The thing about our western capitalism is that it has no base, because it's build upon the money that doesn't exist. Banks are the most important part of our system and they don't need to keep more than 10% money that people put in them.

So, each of 100 men put 100 dolars in the bank. If all of them come at the same time in bank and request their money, only ten of them will be able to get it, becuse there will be only 1000 dolars in the bank.

You know what Chinese also did when they saw that western economy will collapse? They built few multimillion cities that are now called Ghost cities because they are modern cities with everything that one city needs and yet almost noone lives in them yet. They turned their money in something that can't disappear. And money can.

Of course there are hundreds of poor people there, I don't deny that.

1 city actually - New Ordos. And the motivation to build it was quite differently. It was to make the gdp grow. The investment aspect plays an inferior role.

And there's a little more than hundreds of poor people in China.
  3. Its just natural progression,, they can grow because they have room to grow. And when you have it 'good' it will slow down progress.

Eventually people will want their fair share, prices will go up, export will drop. Not saying it will happen tomorrow, or in 10/20/30 years. But they cant grow into eternity with people working 60 hrs a week for barely anything.

Now the average level of wealth is much lower in China than in the EU and the USA. At the moment we use China as much for our own gain as they use us.

The data retention laws are more 1984 than the killswitch. Since there is a PC somewhere which stored that we were both at this forum at this point in time.

I aint the one letting it happen. Hell, virtually every American I know is against it. Just another case of an out of control government doing what it wants.

The day the U.S. drops Capitalism, I'm becoming a revolutionary.
  6. To all Europeans on here, I apologize for my president bitching your countrys out for cutting spending. Its what he should be doing, but hes an idiot who firmly belives that you can spend you way out of a recession.
  7. All parties here want to decrease the debt, one more than the other though. The party who won the elections, the VVD (liberalists) want to decrease the debt with 11.5 billion euros.

Im not really worried about the situation here though, unemployed started decreasing again. Growth is not big, but that is because we are an import/export country so we rely a bit on the growth of trading partners as well.

    Good.
  9. But I agree Obama shouldnt talk BS.

Would be a lot better if they helped by keeping their agreements (for example te 'Joint' Strike Fighter. You are pretty much screwing every foreign business partner taking part in the project.

Wish we never entered that stupid project

It aint that good a plane anyway. The various countries involved would have been far better off just buying newer F-16s/F-18s. About the only thing the JSF has on them is stealth, and only from the front.

Course the U.S. should have just stuck with the F-22. Yeah, there very expensive, but there performance is unparraeled.
  11. Well we needed new planes, but the project was on halt a few times and we keep waiting and waiting.

We were better of with another partner I guess. The EU should have put more effort into building one ourselves. Since we have the knowhow and the resources our selves anyway. Eurofighter failed a bit imho.

Thats the problemn. Eurofighter, and F-35 are pretty much the only games in town for next gen combat aircraft.

I've heard that your countrys AF was offered a great deal on the Saab Gripen(including maintenance), but turned it down. A dumb move if you ask me, since, its a proven design alredy in service (as opposed to the F-35), and because parts and maintenance support was part of the deal.

Thats the most expenive part of fighter planes. Maintenence. If they offer it for cheap, take it.

On a sidenote, if you want a really intresting story of a warplane procurement program gone to hell, look up the A-12 Avenger. It was supposed to be a stealth bomber for the U.S. Navy. They wasted billions of dollars, and redireted money for upgrading the successful F-14, and A-6 on it, and after like 10 years didn't have a single plane to show for it.
