1. Video, lossless and lots of terrible music they can't possibly like. I'm a bit like that myself. I'll bet you anything they haven't even listened to half of the music and leave their computer running overnight on torrents, RapidShare, Usenet and Limewire (even though any half-smart person wouldn't use Limewire).

It would be like this to me: ''You surely couldn't like Chinese Democracy, October, Thriller, hair metal and Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits?''

Anyway, on my iPod it says:

    Songs - 897
    Videos - 2
    Photos - 201
    Capacity - 14.6GB
    Available - 8.4GB

So 1GB goes towards the OS and the jailbroken stuff (though half of it is redundant and useless!) and 5GB goes to music. I have a terrible habit of getting Greatest Hits collections.

And you've listened to all that? Wow. I have so many other albums I've been given, yet I haven't bothered to listen to half of them.
  2. on my iPod Touch it says:

    Songs - 725
    Videos - 2 (Monty Python! )
Photos - 61 (my favourites from U2start's photo secction)
    Capacity - 7,0 GB
    Available - 2,5 GB

The thing that amazes me is that a little flash drive or a small hard drive can store so many songs and other things. 10 years ago you would have laughed at someone if they said in the future you could have a small player that stores well over 40 000 songs and 1 in three of 50% of the world's population in the world would have one - but here we are, and it's not a future thought, it's reality.

I still remember when the flash drives were first released here, and we couldn't believe 128MB of flash storage could be plugged into a computer, have the drivers installed and start copying stuff on to it. Now there's 16 and 32GB ones going for the same price and even less than I paid for my first 128MB one six years ago. And researchers over at Silicon Valley are looking at 1TB worth of portable storage. That can be done, now, but this is doing it on the cheap.

Or when I got a 20GB MP3 player - that's hard to imagine I could store CD-quality music on that and have it going for two days straight - and with a colour screen and games!!! The 512MB player I got, I could have ten full-length albums on that too!!!

haha, no, nowhere near. Some of it's stuff from my youth that I shoved on their when I was first filling my Mac Mini. I know it's full as there was too much memory for the mac mini (which is 80Gb) and I had to put it onto a spare hard-drive.
Every bootleg I've downloaded from here really doesn't help the space issue.
Never used torrents in my life.

    And now the videos too.

  6. I meant people who have no U2 on their 80 gB ipods and aren't fans.

Like its hard to say U2 are good artists when they can use the size of the music library to squash ur argument.
  7. So the iPhone 3GS has arrived. It gets an extra megapixel, a compass and a firmware update. Where can I sign the 4 year contract?
  8. My 160GB iPod currently looks like:

    22 videos (3.56 GB)
39.03 GB Other (Files stored through disk use)

3 megapixel? They're jumping up the ranks!

3.0 firmware is out June 18 or around then.

Yea, I might get one (though not on contract), as they're coming to Australia on the 26th. Wheras the Pre still doesn't have an Australian launch date or a GSM version, and if other smartphones are a guide will probably only arrive down under next year. I can't wait that long, which sucks, since its a great phone and I would be supporting the band, who have stakes in Palm, and I wouldn't have to become an Apple fan either.

Pity the 3GS doesn't multitask like the Pre though, being 2x as fast as the 3G should have allowed for it.

I'm looking to see if the Palm is worth getting as well. It'd be nice to have something different to the rest. Any idea how much the phone (3GS) is gonna go for and what networks it'll be on? Hopefully not Telstra.

And 32GB for a multimedia device is not that much either. 64 or 128GB would be a better addition - but then being Apple, it'll cost as much as a second-hand car.
  12. Recently I discovered the new HD divx resourses, and it provides very improvements in Image & sound.C'mon, try out!
