1. Nope. It's kind of freeing yet strange not having the thing go nuts.

About converting DVDs to iPod - I'm just wondering. I don't actually convert DVDs to it so I couldn't tell you - or I have but I've forgotten how. More the movies I put on there are ripped from YouTube using the HQ mode on there from keepvid.com. I'm pretty sure if you use HandBrake for Windows, that might do it.

This seems to work too: Engadget

i'm gonna give handbrake a go

  3. I'm still so very annoyed by being given the runaround for what? Nothing, apparently.

I know I shouldn't have bought a phone on Vodafone that I wanted to change over, but shit happens and it's done now. Any other ideas?

Here in Holland there are stands in the city that can unlock phones pretty cheap. I dont know its there, otherwise there seem to be a lot of online shops who can do it as well.

Not the way it supposed to go, but it might be the easiest way

I think I will go to one of them. The SIM cards for Vodafone are pretty cheap, but I just don't want anything to do with them.
  6. I'v brouht an £25 itunes card & want to know if you have to use it all at once

  7. Off-topic, the current exchange rate from 25 pounds to Australian dollars looks quite good - the best I've seen in a good while.

On-topic, nope, you don't have to use it all at once. You can buy two or three songs and in another month, buy an iPod game, for example. As far as I know, my sister had an iTunes card and bought ten songs with it, then gave me her password and user name and I bought four other songs and still have 70c on it. She got it in 2006 and I used more of it in 2008.

No idea when it actually expires, though.

  9. No problems.

Anyone tried Firefox 3.5 yet? It seems to use a hell of a lot less memory when it's running and doesn't crash as often - I got about four crashes a day with 3.0. And there's an option to turn off that stupid fucking Awesome Bar too, finally! Without having to mod files or change config options.

    I think they nailed it!

Also, the new iPod 3.0 software, has anyone tried it? I did and gave up after about a day - it was so damn slow and nothing worked properly - it could not find my Wi-Fi connection, which the previous software did in about five seconds and that new variable scrubbing thing plus the Spotlight search put me right off.

People said the jailbreak was slow - this was worse even without jailbreaking.

I haven't (can't be arsed to pay £5.99 and then have to re-jailbreak my iPod) but my wife has it on her iPhone and has noticed it is slower. No wi-fi issues though. The landscape e-mail/SMS and MMS is cool though.
