Huwaei aren't too bad, that's the last phone I had. Not too fast, not too slow...really works quite well if not for the keyboard that was a little small. The only complaint I had about it.
How much did they end up asking you (if I may ask)?
You'd be lucky get three days with Gerard. 
I'm running on iOs 6 now for a few weeks, works pretty well.
